Champion Hurdle 2020

Last I heard Labaik was no longer living the life of a race horse. Massive problems with the owners criminal activity.

Are you more likely than Gordon Elliott and the Racing Post to be in the know though :p

I read that about Labaik’s owners in the press earlier in the year Altior, Irish gangsters who used drug money to buy and finance Labaik. I think a few of them are in prison now for a long time

I see that At The Races and The Sporting Life have Mr Aiden J O'Ryan down as the owner, who according to the article posted by TKP had a 5% share of the horse. I wonder if he's gone balls deep?

One lad told me that Labaik was finished due to injuries and not just because his owners are dodgy. Then I heard from another guy that he's out in some random field out in the countryside with the regular horses.

Whatever the story is, I'd say the chances of seeing Labaik enter any race at all is very low, never mind a feature race.

There was definitely videos of Labaik at Gordon Elliott’s last year

I would happily waste a free bet on Labaik any race, he would have to drop over a stone in the ratings.

Two runs where he is wildly out of shape to confirm the new rating and bang, there’s our county hurdle winner

(Dont think he needs 3) but They'll do very well to get him to actually start 3 races in a row and not plant his feet. I dont know where he stands in the way of a ban for such activity. Whether that's reset with his time off. I wouldnt personally know.

Ruby calls the champion 'a match up between Klassical dream and Saldier, Saldier the value'

Photos from Gordons yard today show Labaik there anyway.

Id say if you sitting on a 33/1 voucher for Saldier your sitting pretty.Ruby didnt have to mention him at all , but did.Easy way out was just to put up KD.

Ask yourself why , probably because he knows something we dont. Id assume ability between the two is close.

Throw into your calculations he rode Klassical Dream in Supreme ,he really is best placed to voice a opinion , and should be listened to .

I hope your right. Plenty of people think Saldier would have beaten Espoir D’allen at Naas which obviously proved to be solid form after what we saw in the CH

KD was hugely impressive in the Supreme and I backed him. It is at the back of my mind though that they only went for the 2m race at the last minute when the rains came and the ground turned soft. Before that he was always going to run in the Ballymore. A quick ground Churdle would worry me slightly in respect of his chances.

It'll be good to soft at worse though won't it. Unless we get a really warm day on the tuesday.
And the trip wouldn;t worry Mullins either way I reckon.

He’s a Grade 1 winner on good so ground is one of the worries I wouldn’t have.

But surely that would have been the case last year as well and they weren't going to run on the Tuesday until the ground went testing?

No choice this year.
