Id rather back Laurina at 6/1 for the CH than Kalashnikov at the same price for the Arkle.

If someone randomly boosted laurina to 8/1 now would you back her just out of interest?

If someone randomly boosted both Kalashnikov and laurina to 12/1 (cant lay) allowed a proper stake And I could back both. I'd take kashnikov and leave laurina.

N.a. it's not that same case. I think I put somehwere above @ 20/1 id take the risk but only with 365 and ew. Because I'd want to be able to get out. As I think there would be a fair chance id need to if there's a race pre chelt with most of the big guns in.

Ah okay, fair point.

365 have really altered ante post haven't they - I hope others follow suit.

You'd be better off backing Penhill at 7/1 or Tiger Roll at 5/1 though!

I think the prestige around the CH makes people want to have a bet doesn't it... as a betting race this just is absolutely no where near the top of my thoughts right now.

Obviously its an open forum to discuss the festival though so I can see why we're having so much traffic in this thread! :)

True... was just responding to someone saying Laurina is the worst price of any horse at the Festival but forgot to use the quote function!

Haha, fair enough.

Every horse quoted at Cheltenham is a worse price than Don Poli to win the Grand National though so we might as well close up the forum and wait until April when I win so much that I buy the internet.:very_drunk:

Hope Michael & Eddie don't throw their toys out of the pram and pull him out again then!

If he loses, or doesn't run.... then I will just claim that he would have won that year anyway and retire on my "moral winnings".

I can't believe I brought up Don Poli in the Champion Hurdle thread. Are there two NH races further apart? haha

I bet you've had a bet in the Albert Bartlett though :highly_amused:

Can't wait to see if the cap fits tomorrow. If he's a CH contender he wins this and wins it well. Had a few quid at 11/4 and will reinvest in the big one if he does the business as he should.
Verdana blue is nothing to worry about at all. we have a dream finishes his races beautifully but he's faced nothing like itcf as it stands. A real test for WHAD

Just backed him for tommorow, and race looks good. Bit worried Verdana Blue may be a different animal this year though.

Shes only beat old guard she's a decent mare but absolutely nowhere on the same parish as buveur dair. There's no excuses he has to win this.

I would say that We Have A Dream and If The Cap Fits are the only horses with genuine Champion Hurdle aspirations. Someones bubble is likely to get burst and something has to win well to be a real contender.

I like ITCF for tomorrow too, but have watered my bet down slightly as Fry's stable form isnt a given.

I havent backed big. Just enough to have a healthy CH bet at 33s ew should he win. Which if he's a CH contender he'll win this convincingly. If he dosent win he might aswell be 100/1 + for the big one

Agreed. Was a but surprised they didn't run in the Greatwood... thought that would have really suited him. Would have been nice to see him have a run around Chelts too.

33/1 looks a more than fair price and I will have it ready to back as they clear the last...

Have to say I'm surprised WHAD isn't favourite tomorrow even with the 3lb penalty so more than happy to see the positivity and money coming for ITCF having 40/1 EW for this race.

Harry Fry in his blog:

I walked the course and decided everything was fine for him. He’s been jumping out of his skin at home and is crying out for a run.

He’s got a bit to find on ratings with the likes of Verdana Blue and We Have A Dream, but it’s a competitive race and we’re just looking forward to getting him started.

We’re going there hoping that the dream can still be alive afterwards, so there’s a real balance of the excitement of having him fit and ready to go, and also an element of nerves.

There’s a lot of belief in him and we certainly wouldn’t be running him in the race if we didn’t think he could be very competitive.

Jono, have I remembered correctly that you know connections of Western Ryder, or is it Istabraq? Was just wondering if you knew if the Greatwood was the plan for the horse, as think he looks a stand out candidate in the absence of If The Cap Fits?
