Suppose its possible that the horse had been campaigned more as a stayer previously and they are working on speed work with him more this season?

You may have heard me mention a few times on this forum. I believe the really good ones can be competitive at any trip from 2 to 3 miles, and I think a few tweaks with training would be probable for some trainers.
Although I know Willie don't train them any differently and his horses are the most flexible of them all.
But they don't get quicker with age.
Not sure anything alive does ?

A small part of me thinks the 25/1 for Melon to win tomorrow and the CH would be a smart play.

If he doesn't win tomorrow I won't really fancy him unless he becomes a silly each way price (16/1+) ... and if he does win, he'll be shorter than he is now... certainly sub 6/1

All angles covered,Buveur,Apples,Laurina,Melon.....I suppose that's the way to make profit in this game, ante post anyway,I just watch the racing for fun and bet who I think will win,one horse in one race and get satisfaction if I've picked the winner.Thats ok ante post covering all these horses to make a profit but how do you play it day to day Kev.

Hoping for a big run from Supasundae to cement his position in this race rather than the Stayers. Nice to hear Jessie say she feels he has got quicker as he's got older. Would certainly rather back him than Melon at similar prices.

I’m on him NRNB e/w at 14s for the CH so I’m hopeful of a goof run today and then they send him here

Supasundae drifting badly too. Looks a penalty kick for AJ this. Close to having a very decent bet at Evs

She's an absolute weapon. Bring on Buveur D'air and Laurina:devilish:

Saw a tweet from Jane Mangan before saying France has De Bon Coeur, England has Altior and people don't realise Ireland has Apples Jade. Hard to argue. She's approaching superstar status now.

This is why there shouldn't be a mares race at the festival. We have two good mares that might not run in the CH because of it.

Not a hope in hell Apple's jade could win a champion hurdle. She dosent have the pace she loses ground at every hurdle jumping out to the right.

doesn't have the pace ?
:highly_amused:

Those that said she'd jump violently out to the right were wide of the mark. She does go slightly to the right but nothing that is going to cost her a race.

DRF is left handed. All he has to do is sit on the tail. She'll go violently out to the right on the bend I think it's 3 out where Nichols canyon did against faugheen. Melon slips up the inside. Game over .

This didnt age well haha..
Shes top class and would go VERY close in the champion hdle

For first time in a couple of months I'm now concerned Laurina goes mares.

Its more of a jink to the right before the fence isnt it? Then she actually jumps them reasonably straight. Doesn't seem to cost her that much as shes actually efficient at the jumping bit and gets down on the other side quickly!

A replication of that performance wins the CH doesn’t it? Anything beating Supasundae 16L and Melon 21L wins the Champion Hurdle.
