Champion Bumper ‘25

Before jockey bookings I’d have personally had Leaky Cauldron as the better of the two, but that’s based on P2P races. It looks like the opposite now but you never know until they get racing. That race is good for placed horses at Cheltenham but not the winner. Looks like we’ll probably be waiting a bit longer until seeing Willies best by the look of it.

R4H commented on my diary to say Leaky Cauldron was a bit behind Eclipse so that’s probably why JM.

Willies are running horrendous so no idea what to make of the runners the last two days

Yeah I'd maybe excuse some of his horses now and upgrade those who have run well.

Yeah Gaelic and Lossie are two on my list who I’m thinking have run well considering.

Gaelic I think I’d agree with, stuck at it quite well.

I’d view the Christmas Hurdle differently. I wouldn’t mark Lossie up, would say she ran well below par which tallies with the proximity of Burdett Road. I’d mark Con Hill down instead. Yes, you could say he won and had been off the track etc etc but I’d have liked/expected him to have done it more easily. In my opinion he was a fair way off the Con Hill we’ve seen before.

Just my opinion and I’m sure many others see it totally differently..

It’s difficult and imo also dangerous to use that as an angle for antepost betting though.
Who ran below par, who ran their race and got beat by a better horse etc etc
I certainly wouldn’t be relying on that!!

So far nothing has really stamped its class on the bumper,we've seen a few ok prospects but nothing I've seen has me thinking there isn't something better lurking, maybe this newcomer from Elliott tomorrow is worth a second look, made a pretty penny at the sales, has a nice page & the P2P debut was encouraging, click the link and you can check it all out for yourself, some 40's floating around but mostly it's 33's everywhere.
Good luck.

He’d be the second best 4yo of the season in my opinion. There was a brief discussion about him on another thread, but I assumed he’d be kept back for an end of season bumper rather than turned out this quickly. No reason why he can’t throw his hat into the ring though.

His PTP win was very impressive wasn't it. RPR of 95 for it,.

The best in your opinion?

Sine Qua Non I'm guessing. 97 rating.

Yeah that was taking. With Padraig Roche now so it’ll be interesting to see how he’s campaigned. Potentially not one for bumpers.

I'd be suspect of the form. Think it was very heavy that day wasn't it? Hard to gauge it - bit like Teeshan and Quantum Boys PTP wins.

Take it JP has bought him?
