Appreciate the reply charlie. Food for thought... think I will hang fire for the time being. Just got a feeling this race could really cut up from what the lists look like currently.

No worries pal. We are at that tricky stage now a month from Cheltenham where we find ourselves at a crossroads of stick or twist when it comes to bets like the above. I think its always easier for people to convince themselves to hang onto a bet than it is to bin it off and cash out. 'Human nature the unknown sure', and something I can be just as guilty of as anyone.

Yeah I agree. Its that fear of cashing one out then watching it win I think!

Both are running for places and I think the better ground will be in Longhouse Poets favour in March. I do not feel he wants 3 miles as he was still a little keen at the DRF and didn't last home there in my opinion. If the Ballymore cuts up then you could be sitting on a nice price where he won't need to beat many home to land a place (if you're each way). It also only takes some bad luck, injury or a fall to Envoi Allen and it all changes for you.

I've held on to mine for the time being too. When NRNB kicks in at the declarations reduce in size, his price is only going to get shorter and provide a better cash out nearer the time. I imagine he'll be entered in both and the decision made very late so it's unlikely (famous last words) that you'll be caught out any time soon.
 
Longhouse Poet was last seen finishing third behind Latest Exhibition in Grade One company at Leopardstown’s Dublin Racing Festival, with You Raised Me Up occupying the same finishing position in the ultra-competitive Ladbrokes Hurdle on the same afternoon.

Beating Champ with City Island is making Martin uncharacteristically optimistic about LP chances V Envoi Allen in this, IMO of course.

To be fair to him he's just saying he'll run a good race. I'd say they've already accepted if he's to be a top prospect it'll be over fences.

Be surprised if he's given too much of a hard time at the festival anyway, I have him down as one for the future, over fences.

I've only left a small bet open on him, but not expecting much from it tbh.

Just taken a look back at the finish of the bumper and he really does rally to the challenge of Blue Sari.

I was proper gruelling ground last year too

I really wouldn't worry about him emptying. He only does enough in his races, but he wins snaff like. I reckon he'll do what Samcro did but just leave it till after the last to get infront just to give us a sweat
 
Yes agree but 4.5 f more than bumper and last race a slight concern at Naas

Charlie I agree , hope that’s exactly how it works out :encouragement:
