Ballymore Novice Hurdle 2019

If he takes up the 2m3f entry in Naas he must be showing signs of settling better at home. He won’t get the Ballymore trip if he races as freely as he did in bumpers.

Iv cashed out my Supreme bet with 365 and reinvested into this race.

Also stuck him in a trixie with Annamix & Carefully Selected.

All ‘educated’ guesswork at this stage Bobby but I’d say there’s a good chance both will end up in the Ballymore

I’d agree that both will be Ballymore

I feel Willie has enough horses for the Supreme i.e Annamix, Quick Grabhim, Mister Blue Sky and maybe more.
The Ballymore looks like Backbow, Tornado Flyer and possibly Carefully Selected though I think he go Albert along with Dorrells P. and Stay Humble.

That's assuming they're all good enough to go.
There's plenty of other mullins novices unraced over here that will be out later too.

Deffinately, iv already filled the wheel barrow on himself and annamix for the ballymore ew / supreme ew respectively.

Been tempted by the double?

311/1

I don't back any multiples personally. If I did it would have been at 20s and 25s But iv made sure each single would be a huge win at the biggest prices and cover me for the whole festival.

Jesus, with the amount of other horses you’ve backed you must have a bloody big wheelbarrow!

As you’ve backed them so heavily, how many of your other bets would need to land if they miss?

Not many at all as there all big prices when iv got time I'll work or the pts scale and add it next to the horses. And the huge bets are all with 365. Anything that's isn't any race or a boosted price is 365.

Max bet on annamix with 365 at 20s ew and 20s win. Easy to get out of. Although I'm pretty certain he's the one.

Blackbow at 25s simular a huge bet and easy to get out of will never be bigger than 25s after 1 run.

Same for adjali won't be bigger than 33s after 1 run.

Same getabird 20s
Mengli khan 20s
Arkle

Santini is 365.
Colreevy mares novice 25/1 365

Carefully selected and tornado flyer are at 365 both at 25s.

None of them can get any bigger price or at worst I'll lose a small percentage. And I can narrow them down if needed. Ie I could get rid of colreevy if she stepped up in trip considerably. Iv put alot of thought into it trust me.

I can't fatham that at 311/1 :p

If you fancy both strongly (and as we know you're confident enough to live and die by it) then the small stake you'd need to place 'just in case' would be an absolute no brainer for me.

but we do have different approaches and both have worked so far :)

It just annoys me if 1 won I see the wasted money of what I'd have won if I'd have just put that money and split it on the single.
Might sound a bit tight :)

Baby pulling on the purse strings no doubt :p

To be fair though, if one won, you'd have a cashout option on 365 wouldn't you.

Have 1 pt e/w on, for me :highly_amused:

haha love it, got to be worth a point EW as Kev says. Imagine the celebrations!!!

A few of the market leaders entered up over the weekend for this, however a horse a bit left field from the rest, School Boy Hours, interests me, who is also entered over the weekend.

The half brother to the late Finian's Oscar was left with far too much to do on debut against more experienced horses, another JP owned horse won the race but the way he finished that race suggesting a step up in trip was required, also had Geraghty booked for that ride too. They went down the longer trip route on his second start but over 3m, so quite a big step up, however he came down when travelling as well as anything else in the race, and was too early to see what he had in him.

For all he looks a chaser I think it maybe significant they have kept him over hurdles this season, and the Ballymore trip looks perfect.

He has his questions marks for sure, and the trainer isn't usually one I'd turn to for a novice hurdler but I am keen to keep an eye on him over the weekend.

No price, that I am aware of for him, for any race at the festival currently, probably with good reason, but a good showing against some of the market principals for this at the weekend and I'll seek to have some added!

No Blackbow or Commander Of Fleet this weekend, though the latter has an entry next week at Thurles too.

School Boy Hours does run, over 2m 3f, which should be right up his street!

Still not seen the price collapse on CoF... I was expecting this given the hype / comparison to samcro even if he doesn’t turn out to be as good... is definitely one market I have left alone for now but hoping to create a position soon

Elliott (and Mullins) had a ton of horses at Tipperary today - Elliott had just the 54 horses out there today! Haven't noticed any prices shorten since which has happened in previous years with Samcro being the obvious example last winter.

I can't find much about that on twitter.... any good links?

Decided to get Acey Milan onside prior to Sunday’s run out - looks the most likely target given the entries at the distance.
