A few of the market leaders entered up over the weekend for this, however a horse a bit left field from the rest, School Boy Hours, interests me, who is also entered over the weekend.
The half brother to the late Finian's Oscar was left with far too much to do on debut against more experienced horses, another JP owned horse won the race but the way he finished that race suggesting a step up in trip was required, also had Geraghty booked for that ride too. They went down the longer trip route on his second start but over 3m, so quite a big step up, however he came down when travelling as well as anything else in the race, and was too early to see what he had in him.
For all he looks a chaser I think it maybe significant they have kept him over hurdles this season, and the Ballymore trip looks perfect.
He has his questions marks for sure, and the trainer isn't usually one I'd turn to for a novice hurdler but I am keen to keep an eye on him over the weekend.
No price, that I am aware of for him, for any race at the festival currently, probably with good reason, but a good showing against some of the market principals for this at the weekend and I'll seek to have some added!
