Arkle 2020

He won't get the choice. :devilish:

Willie will pop him on the horse he got to place in a Champion Hurdle, for the same owners he won a Gold Cup for.

1/100 shot.

Willie will then place whichever Mullins boyo he wants on the others, I'd imagine Danny will keep the ride as he's the one that rode him last time.

Don't forget Bapaume lads... He could be the best of all of them and has been backed recently.

David on him then...

Mullins 1-2-3

Easy game.

Easy Game! :applause:

I can see the fascination with Bapaume (a little bit) and he's only 7 yrs old.
But I can't remember a horse with a profile like that winning an arkle.
and he looks exposed to me.

He's had 22 runs, and mostly over a trip.
Would be a strange winner of this race.

Agree. Not on my radar at all.

Also I don't think he finishes his races off too well. If he runs I think he may travel well for a long way but will more than likely fade into 4th/5th when the other horses kick on....

Really liked the Naas run the last day. And I always like a stayer in the Arkle. They will go way too fast and I want a horse that stays. At the prices... I like him. And I was on way before Ruby put him up - just before someone plays that card.

He'll be one, if not the, last off the bridle as he travels so well. I'm really sweet on his chances but slightly annoyed that Ruby mentioned him at Christmas as he was flying completely under the radar.

What are your thoughts of the British chances after the Wayward Lad result? I’m sure it was mentioned at the time but the Christmas period was a hectic period so was scrambling to keep up. None of the first 4 have made much of a dent on the market except Global Citizen but I do expect him, Rouge Wif, Grand Sancy and Al Dancer to turn up on March 10th. Can you see any of these realistically challenging Notebook and Fakir?? My gut feeling is no and they will all struggle to place but that’s more down to the result of the past 2 Arkles with Irish dominance. If I’m wrong then I’d be interested in your take?

I do expect Brewinupastorm to be a serious challenger if he does get here fit and ready BTW

I dont think theres any particular standout. You could say notebook and fakir. But I dont think theres much in it. Something that's been beaten recently and is 33s or so now. Could easily pop up and win. Hard to nail down which one though.

I'd say they're all not good enough, for different reasons.
I'm not sure they'll all turn up either, as they might fancy a crack at handicapping (although I kind of think the handicapper has overrated them all at one time or another)

Kempton can throw up funny results vs Cheltenham though, so not sure the wayward lad will work out going forward.

There is no Arkle trial at the Cheltenham Trials day at the end of the month is there? The shortest race is 2.4f. Is they another ‘Arkle’ trial before the Festival in Britain??

Altior ran in the Game Spirit in Feb, but that's open company so not exactly an Arkle trial.

When I say trial I mean a graded 2 mile chase before the festival. The Game Spirit is at Newbury which is left handed so probably is the last opportunity?? It was cancelled last year because of the horse flu outbreak

Just seen Ruby say he thinks Melon up in trip and Baupaume a dark horse.

Sounds like a Kevloaf kind of e/w double

There's the Kingmaker at Warwick in Feb

Ah yes of course, the Saint Kevidos route

This race is going to Ireland though TKP, so don't waste your energy :p

Still hoping that Dodgy Dan changes his mind about Nube Negra after that race and sends him to the Arkle after all!
