It says plans remain fluid? A little misleading to think he definitely goes for the Arkle based on that article... could easily need further over fences.

Money doesn't say so at this stage but the only thing we know is that he's going to go chasing. I don't like his price at all.... lack of obvious competition is the negative at this stage BUT Footpad wasn't even a thought in my mind at this time last year so there are plenty of horses to come out and throw their hoofs into the ring

I think he has been running well on soft ground, but will likely be better on better ground. Set to make his chase debut at Exeter next week in the race Yanworth won last year. Obviously there is a danger he could be a JLT horse, but he's not available in the Any Race markets and breeding does suggest the minimum trip will be the way to go with him.

Pleased with Lalor’s schooling

I schooled Kayley Woollacott’s Lalor at Philip Hobbs' yard last Friday and we were very pleased with him. He felt well and looked great.

We’ll probably school him again in a couple of weeks’ time. There’s an option for him at Exeter next week, but Uttoxeter may be more likely in early November.

He’s a Grade One novice hurdler winner, so he’s a very nice horse to be going chasing with. He’s a big, rangy type and has a lovely long stride on him.

You’d think that he should take to fences, but you never know until the day comes. I’d like to think he’ll be up to Grade One level over fences.

Such a good case in fact, I have also added this one. I missed that Lalor was going chasing but with that in absolutely no doubt, a g1 hurdler is under estimated at 33/1 as you say.

One horse that does stand out as over priced to my mind, and one which only some firms are quoting here, is LALOR. Kayleigh Wollacott’s stable star boasts bumper and hurdle form that puts him right in the mix for top novice chasing honours. The trainer has suggested the horse may prove more of a natural over fences and he is an easy ante post pick at a price which seems to underestimate his ability.

Assume they mean the Kalahari King Chase which River Wylde won last year over 2m.

He missed last year with a splint which we couldn’t stop hurting him and we had the splint removed in March. He has had a summer out at grass and is 100 per cent now. He is a dark horse really and if he stays sound he’s a top class two-mile chaser.

Pingshou I backed him at 50s and 170s for the Arkle last season...

I did check out what he said about Vision Des Flos too...

He was a cracking hurdler who schools like a good one. We will go novice chasing now and he has everything in front of him. We will keep him away from Lostintranslation and The Russian Doyen.
 
Melon staying over hurdles as is Laurina so still no idea who the Mullins Arkle will be
 
No mention of Ciloas Emery. Probably not a great sign but there were plenty of other omissions from Kevin Blake.
 
The mention of Getabird's liking for right handed tracks is worth noting. I don't particularly like him but that quote alone would be enough to put me off him for the Arkle.

Kevin Blake makes the list himself. And has a set number. Of which he pretty much asked the right ones. there were loads missing ie bapaume, tornado flyer, coquin mans, etc.... footpad wasn't in last year's

Saldier! Who I am just waiting for to go chasing!

Tempted to back 'any race' and also get a price for this now that Melon & Laurina have supposedly the Champion Hurdle as the target, though have my doubts that both will turn up for it!

I think Joe Chambers put Saldier up as his one to follow, but may be wrong?

Saldier is set to go down the champion hurdle route.


Grade 1 juvenile hurdle winner Saldier.

"I think he is an exciting prospect," he said. "I would imagine even though we don't tend to like running five-year-olds in the Champion Hurdle that would be the path that he probably takes this season.

I cannot believe Kalashnikov is as low as 6/1 for this race... must be one of the worst antepost prices of all time.

Yup- i see hes still 25s, i think hes going to be a superb chaser...all being well.

This was in response the Faugheenthemachines post btw!
