Arkle 2018

Owners racing manager - “Nothing has changed. I’ve spoken to Willie today. He’s absolutely fine, no problems with the horse. There’s no reason to come change from the original plan all winter, which has been the arkle”

By that quote I personally think ATR are to blame for the stupid rumour, guess their mates had some of the 4.8

What a pile of tosh these rumours are! I know I'm a bit late to the party regarding them but IMHO I think the prices are probably what I expect them to be nearer the off anyway tbh.

Footpad drifted to a steady 2/1, not as if it was like 20's or worse, hardly a big sign something was wrong. Also, even if there was a problem, what can anyone actually do about it, as I have no doubt all connections or real friends of connections would have already taken up all the back funds on the exchanges anyway, not just £50 or £60.

Footpad 6/4
Petit Mouchoir 5/2
Saint Calcados 4/1
Sceau Royal 6/1
Brain Power 8/1
North Hill Harvey 20/1
Montalbano 33/1
Robinshill 80/1

Is that our final field?

Invitation only going JLT or RSA
Tycoon Price to a handicap
Kemboy likely JLT
Tomstone to a handicap
ASthuria won't run here

and that is everything quoted....

I thought someone said North Hill Harvey was going elsewhere Kev?

More runners than I expected but that looks about right, still a classy looking race.. I guess Robinshill will be hoping for a small payday...

Will both the outsiders turn up? NHH a definite?

I think it's probably odds on to be less than 8 runners

I thought he might be going Grand Annual but saw a tweet from 2 days ago from Harry Skelton saying that NHH runs in the Arkle

I'd assume Willie will have two... no reason to leave Paul Townend on the sidelines.....

Not a clue about Robinshill....

Only the 1st 5 are in the real race anyeay tbh . Could well scrape 8 runners for the 1st 3 places. Decent Prize money down to 5th and anything could happen

Ok brilliant mate. That was last thing I had seen. Missed the tweet

That's a bit of good news for me for a change. I don't hold out much hope but it's better to have a runner than not:devilish:

Happy to hear that ! getting a run ,gonna be better than missing the race . win, lose or draw.

Footpad drifting which looks something more than a market correction. That is against the predicted softer surface which would be more in his favour than both Petit Mouchoir and Sceau Royal. My guess would be that there has been some sort of problem which has been kept quiet but those that know are moving the market.

However, Anthony Bromley, racing manager for owners Simon Munir and Isaac Souede, said there had no been change of heart and that the horse was in fine shape .

"Absolutely nothing has changed," Bromley told Press Association Sport.

"I've spoken to Willie today. The horse exercised today. He's absolutely fine, no problems with the horse. There's no reason to change from the original plan all winter which has been the Arkle.

"People are obviously having a non-runner no bet, so they get their money back. He's obviously longer odds in the JLT.

"As of today there are no issues with the horse. We've got 10 days to the Arkle.

"The final decision will be made next weekend but there's no change of plan and we don't understand why (he has drifted in the Arkle). It's probably not much money that's changed it anyway.

"I've checked with Willie. There are no issues. It's all systems go and we are going for the Arkle."

That hopefully puts a line through that 'topic'.
