Yeh 27/28/29 now showing as rain. With my Hukum blinkers on I think that will be perfect as it's good now and will probably go good to soft. Not rattling quick and more of a stamina test.

I agree, likely to suit Westover too, I do think it will be between the two of them again, as long as it’s not a bog
 
Not sure you get a quick Arc very often do you?

I've made a right mess of this race though. Between Tahirya and Savethelastdance :emmersed: Only left with Hukum as a winner now.

It's been run on good ground a few times in recent years. Welcome to team Hukum, the water is warm.
 
Not sure how recent we're talking but the last 4 years have all been very soft or heavy.:anonymous:

I'm also haunted by Solemia and Torquator Tasso. So it's permanently heavy in my head.

4 years is too small a sample size to be considered recent. 2018, 2016, 2015 and 2014 were all good ground.

I think we're programmed to think soft/heavy but as per the above it's often not.
 
:emmersed: I'll swerve the discussion on the definition of 'recent' for everyone's sake!

Be happy with soft anyway. Hukum, Trueshan, Kinross and Via Sistina. A basically all fav Yankee for team GB :watermelon:

Your mention of 2018 made me rewatch the race

Can confirm Sea of Class still didn't get up in time sigh (what a turn of foot that filly had)

Was plenty of mud flying about

Those going descriptions for French racing on the racing post are just made up half the time

The amount of times iv had a bet on French racing thinking it was very soft just to turn sky racing on and see beautiful sunshine and proper good round has made me very cynical about trusting it

Very much looking forward to a decent ground Arc weekend though

Heavy ground ruins horse racing as a betting medium as even half the soft ground horses dont act on it

Anything from soft to good will be fine and il be getting stuck into some of the group 1s
 
Has the maestro Andre Fabre got a runner in it ?? How old is that man now....must be 100. Was around when I first got into racing.

That's the winner then ! Love that trainer, especially when he used to regularly bring one across in the good old days. Rarely return without prize money.
 
I think now the German horse intends to run I’d have him 3rd favourite behind hukum and ace impact.

at least a similar price to feed the flame and continuous is up against it I reckon
