I'm thinking it might be time to accept Romeo Coolio is not absolutely top drawer G1. He seems to find one or two better in all the big G1 races. I accept he won the Future Champions Novice Hurdle (Grade 1) but that was a very weak G1. Might he be the right fit for the new 2m4 G2 Novices Handicap Chase on the Thursday ? Similar to Firefox this year.

That may well be the case but I know they always expected his game to be chasing...
 
Romeo Coolio has always struck me as being a bit soft but chasing may be the making of him. Regardless of that, I'd be surprised if Brighterdaysahead is aimed at the Arkle. She's already shown that 2 miles at Cheltenham isn't her thing and, with the ultimate aim being the Gold Cup, I'd make the Mares Chase the likely target next March unless the BANC turns out to be extremely weak.

I'm with you Archie. In my opinion BDA options are #1 Mares Chase and #2 BANC. But I don't think she will win either. I really fancy Spindleberry for the Mares Chase and The Big Westerner for the BANC. Mares Mares Mares everywhere.........:watermelon:

A week to go for the start of Punchestown , with a few big Runners entered up on the Tuesday ..
............ Kopek des Bordes , Salvator Mundi , Fact to File , Marine Nationale , Ballyburn , Lecky Watson to name a few ... :excitement: .

And two that interest me for the 2000 Guineas .. at opposite ends of the market .

….nothing obvious on the novice hurdles front could mean a bit of value there but it comes with high risk.

Doctor du Mesnil 20-1 (Turners) maybe worthy of consideration, going under the radar after impressively winning the 2m 3f Cork Bumper a few days ago (worth a watch), 365 cut to 20-1 yesterday after opening 25s, Unibet opened 33s and have also cut to 20s.

Hope JackieMoon33 doesn’t mind me quoting him as saying this one is ‘very exciting’, his diary entry is worth a read.

Close Decision , but decided to go with these as I feel the Target Races are Good. .
Was tempted by the big prices for Kopek de Mee and Doctor du mesnil ., Wendigo , and also Jasmin de Vaux ., Kalif du Berlais , but feel the Yankee choices are Good...
Even though the cases made were strong for the others ...

Lecky Watson is due to Run on Tuesday at Punchestown , and Green Impact seems certain to line up for the 2000 guineas next sunday ...

Let's hope we can have one in the Bag , going on to Cheltenham ..
