Albert Bartlett 2020

Two hard held smash ups on proper soft ground and their post race deduction is he wants good ground.

Ok Colin :very_drunk:

They’ve said he might be better for nice ground because of his nice action. However he can win on soft due to his size and ability.... not sure what’s wrong with that tbh. Did win his point on g/y

Presume they think he’ll be better for slightly better ground, nothing wrong with suggesting that. Might not end up being true though!

sorry chaps, I had this earlier in relation to Latest Exhibition but been out all day/night

"Lad I work with knows Paul Nolan well. That horse that beat Andy Dufrense on Sunday has been out of his yard for 600k by the Donnelly’s (Melon owners) & moved to Willie. Feel very sorry for Paul Nolan"

I assume your training license is in the post? :devilish:

Wow- saw it on twitter earlier- mad if true! Poor Nolan is right... also seems quite a weird purchase don’t get me wrong he looks a good horse and that

Sad for Nolan but do people think this changes much re LE's festival target ?

It means he forms part of Mullins bingo and anything Nolan said about AB definitely being the plan goes out the window as Mullins may read things differently. Much could depend on how the likes of Shishkin, It Sure Is, Asterion Forlonge progress as to whether the Donnelly’s pack needs shuffling. That said, to me he looks a stayer and I’ve backed for the AB only and won’t be covering anywhere else.

It Sure Is runs Friday I think and it looks a winnable race given how is was a touch unfortunate last time. I originally liked him for the Ballymore but he’s another who could go up in trip too.

Nick Goff was telling Oli Bell and Tom Stanley on the only balls & horses podcast that fiddlerontheroof is definitely going to the supreme. It’s his only Cheltenham antepost at 150/1. Seemed to be through the owners the way he was talking.

If is true. They have

Tactical move, the big Getaway and egality mans too.

Interesting. That makes it a little more plausible for TBB to go Ballymore. If so, with Envoi in the race, I'll wait until the day and back TBB without the fav.

Mullins is his own man and trainer and obviously has to do what is right for the horse and what the owners want.

But it would be nice if he kept Paul Nolan’s plan in place with the horse, not that it would be much consolation for PN should that plan play out and run/win the AB. Mullins obviously has plenty of horse to try and shuffle around so who knows.

Not pocket talk either just a little Christmas spirit from me.

Gutted for the Nolan’s, you could see what it meant to them on Sunday to have a horse with that potential. Hopefully Willie sticks to the AB plan with him

Not the Xmas pressie Paul Nolan needed, feel for the guy.

However James Mernagh is laughing all the way to the bank

The slight consolation he can take is surely a bit of that 600k at least will be reinvested into more horses for him. You’d hope anyway

Jack don’t know Murtaghs finances but you’d like to think so , hope so !
Paul Nolan interview after the horse had won depicted to me a man under pressure.
Let’s hope Murtagh Buys 3/4 horses and sends them to Nolan

Yep fingers crossed. It did look like it meant a heck of a lot for Nolan on Sunday. At least he was able to have the win and let people see he's still capable of training these top horses again. He seems back in form and hopefully he keeps it up. Always like him

Now I really want Fitzhenry to win the Kim Muir!

I love The Big Getaway, Scooby, he has got a full book of NHF runs now, and is aiming to go over hurdles next time out.

He would be a way behind the progress of Latest Exhibition with his three hurdle runs including Grade 3 and Grade 2, so I would tend to think of LE as a Bartlett horse this season, but not sure on The Big Getaway, maybe the post-Cheltenham graded races?

I see no reason why the big getaway wouldn't go to Cheltenham. It's not like Willie's running out of time, he is purposely keeping the better ones back, so they can go on to Cheltenham AND punchestown. They're not sat around or might be left for another year etc... they're out schooling
