Albert Bartlett 2020

Lord Royal (Willie/Paul Townend) and Floueur (Gordon/Davy Russell) clash tomorrow in the Grade 3 Mercedes Benz Novice Hurdle over 3M.

Last year Allaho won by 4 lengths from Minella Indo, receiving 3lb from MI.

This time Floueur has to give Lord Royal 6lb. I think both are live ones for the Albert Bartlett, and if Floueur can get anywhere close to Lord Royal (or beat him) on those weights then he could be close to Albert Bartlett favourite by tomorrow afternoon.

Floueur is still 40/1 NRNB for the Albert Bartlett (also with Cashout with one firm).

I love Lord Royal & have posted many times how I fancy him in the spud race (though am on to win any race but not NRNB) - I’ve also backed Floueur for the Coral Cup.....bit of a head scratcher....guess I hope Floueur gets outstayed into a remote second & they go handicap route but may take some 40/1 NRNB insurance just in case as I do like him too...

I like Floueur a lot, got him NRNB M Pipe, and on BFX at big prices for small stakes in the Ballymore and the Bartlett, so if he goes close or wins tomorrow I am happy.

If Lord Royal dots up then he will have beaten a decent field in this race, and could be very competitive in the Bartlett.
In fact whoever wins, the same applies, there are about six Bartlett entries in here, and the race (via Henry de Bromhead principally) has a good recent Bartlett record.

Don Poli won this Grade 3 race in 2014 before dotting up in the Martin Pipe.

it is a good race Q, need to check the Bartlett entries amongst them, there could be some big prices to look at NRNB before the race.

Add Fully Charged into the mix, (HdB/Rachael) who won by 22 lengths in a Maiden Hurdle in Heavy ground at Limerick at Christmas and this is the race that Henry De Bromhead uses every year for his Albert Bartlett horse.

HdB's recent record in this race:-
2019 Monalee 2nd in this race, Won Albert Bartlett at 50/1
2018 Chris's Dream won this race, Ran unplaced in the Albert Bartlett at 6/1
2017 Monalee won this race, 2nd Albert Bartlett at 8/1
All became Grade 1 horses.

Fully Charged has the Bartlett and Ballymore entries, time to take 50/1 NRNB for the Bartlett for me.

This is interesting as was looking at De Bromhead's hand for the novice hurdles the other day - thought the Gigginstown runner Cobbler's Way was his Bartlett horse (see entered in Ballymore too like Fully Charged) who's got some pretty decent form in going down to Latest Exhibition previously & never been out of front 2 in 5 runs. May have to add Fully Charged NRNB e/w from what you've said then Saxon...

Watched his videos, hurdles debut at 16/1 beaten a length or so by the evens fav, then 22 length breeze upon heavy next time out.
Had four runs in P2P's so jumping experience a plenty, and breeding suggests 3M through and through (hurdles races 2M6F and 2M5F up to now). 50/1 NRNB BetVictor the other NRNBs are 33/1.

Added e/w alongside Cobblers Way who already had in book. Happy now with those two Hdb runners & Latest Exhibition for the win @ 70s thanks to Charlie months ago.

Like this fully charged shout. Good digging.

Someone's whacked Sky on it... into 25s from 40s past 10 mins

Fully Charged 13/2 first show with WH for tomorrows race

Evens Lord Royal
11/4 Floueur
11/2 Well Set Up
13/2 Fully Charged
8/1 Run Wild Fred
11/1 bar

Also now Bet Victor have dropped Fully Charged from 50/1 to 33/1. We cant mention anything on here without it being cut sharpish :dejection:

I had an initial bet on it when I read your first post and had a look myself. Went back for more and got the dreaded 'Price has changed' message!! Thanks for the shout though, I do like it and hopefully got a good one here. :encouragement:

If you like Fully Charged why not back him tomorrow at 10/1? If he any aspirations to be a Grade 1 performer then he must surely finish in the three?

Yep 10/1 looks big. Though Minella Indo was beaten 4 lengths last year in this, and then reversed the form at Cheltenham.

I was having a good look through the current runners for this race today.
and i decided to have a little punt on - One for the Team, trained by nick williams.
6 y/old , Already had 6 hurdles runs , including a 3rd, 2nd, & 1st over 3 miles.
Got an entry, and 33-1 with w.hills and betfred .

He’s qualified for the Pertemps so a chance he could go that route!

Going to back that myself I think, a good spot SW.

Really like this horse going forwards. He is a very good jumper and absolutely bolted up at Newbury. I believe he is a graded horse in the making but he can still go very close off his revised mark in a Pertemps. It would strike me as slightly strange given the number of relatively weak staying novice hurdles - see Ramses De Teilles - to suddenly switch from handicaps to a graded race. He could run really well in an Albert Bartlett and finish fifth or sixth. He has a much better line to the opposition in a Pertemps.

Looking at what one of the owners said, although they were looking at the Pertemps- the 12lb hike he copped for might sway them into running in this?

One For The Team made a convincing case for inclusion in Nick Williams’s Cheltenham Festival team with a 14 lengths victory on trainer’s son Chester in the Betfair Bet In-Play Handicap Hurdle.

“We are trying to get to the Pertemps Final, but he may have done his handicap mark there,” said Colin Garner of the Forty Winks Syndicate. “He is in the Albert Bartlett as well.”

That isn't the quote i read , But thank's for posting it Cashew .
Might end up with an extra dart in this Race after all..:D
