Is Dickie Diver not a horse than is just painfully obviously not ready for the Albert Bartlett?
I am going to be annoyed with myself when I inevitably get sucked in, back him, then realise he pulls way to hard and wanders around so won't win :highly_amused:
BV please just watch the Chepstow race
DD comes to win the race, flattens the last , loses momentum and still gets up to almost to win.
IMO DD is the danger to COF
You’ve missed my point
How can you make conclusions for an Albert Bartlett when the race was run over 2m3f? LO has improved massively for the step up in trip, stamina is this chaps forte. The fact Dickie Diver managed to get back on terms tells me he’s probably too quick, I think he would be running in the Ballymore if they weren’t mob handed. Has he even run 3m?

Yep. Too inexperienced for me to bother with, however, as has been said, he is probably the most likely to end up the best of the lot in time.
Agree 100% MS
I followed DD at Chepstow from the saddling enclosure through pre parade ring .
The race itself ?
DD’s to win going away but levelled final hurdle
LO has obviously improved and will need to imo to beat DD
This discussion has convinced me even more so and have just topped up on DD
This horse is no shrinking violet
Time will tell
First bet on this. Derrinross @ 20/1 B365
I know it's cliche but were he trained by Mullins or Elliot and not Philip Dempsey I think he would be a lot shorter. Other than At Fishers Cross and Bob's Worth this race tends to be a waste land for short priced favourites so happy to look away from the front of the market which includes quite a few Mullins/Elliot horses that remain untested over 3m. Derrinross is clearly enjoying his racing over 3m having won a Grade 3 at Cork beating Sams Profile who I thought ran well finishing second over too short a trip in the Lawlor's Of Naas Novice Hurdle. Derrinross then went on to win a Grade 2 over 3m giving weight away at Limerick beating Defi Bleu. Taken from Sportinglife 'The Limerick contest, registered as the Dorans Pride Novice Hurdle and formerly run at the Guiness Novice Hurdle, has produced a long list of high-class winners since its inception in 2003, with the likes of Weapon's Amnesty, Faugheen, Martello Tower, Up For Review and Penhill winning in recent season'.
I debated backing this now as I don't think his price would be too different but Dempsey has said 'if he gets soft ground he could run at the Dublin Racing Festival', so I decided to get on now as he won't be under the radar with a good performance there. He'll want soft ground at Cheltenham, but this relatively unexposed imposing 7 year old is definitely a player so happy to take 20/1 with the the AB definitely being the plan.
I don't think i will be as strict with the trends for this race this year. Ground has stopped some running quite as much.
Hah fair play mate. Not the owner by any chance are you?![]()
Will that not make the stat of horses with more runs even stronger? The horses who have been able to get runs in must be at an advantage.
Hi lads does anyone know if Carefully Selected is injured or is it just the ground, I would have though Punchestown tomorrow was Ok. Its just I have a nice little antepost bet with him in it. He now has no entries this weekend either.
