J.L.T Novices Chase 2019

Le Richebourg is on the radar for this. Want bigger than 20/1 though.

Was tipped up on upping the ante on racing post on YouTube was pushed out to 28-1 by redzone bet who seem to be a sponsor. Hadn't heard of them before.

Le richebourg has done nothing different to what he did last year at the moment apart from jumping a bigger obstacle. Wait until he goes up in grade

Shouldn't be 20/1 on the bare form. Would want at least 33/1.

I hope Paul Nichols follows the same path with Topofthegame as he did with Modus and Politilogue. 10/1 in places now, 20/1 with Hills which I am taking

That's a bold call you might find he runs over 3m at the weekend

You’ll see on the RSA thread SeanRock has previously made a good case for TOTG in that race. His entry on Saturday over 3 miles which he is most likely to take this weekend would suggest the longer trip is a genuine possibility

I'd want a nicer price because I think Topofthegame will be a 3 miler too BUT it isn't out of the realms of possibility that TOTG gets beaten and they consider bounding him out over this trip.

Not one for me at this stage but can see why charlie has had a flyer

Fair enough Kev, but if (and I’m not saying this is the case with Charlie) you only spotted the Friday entry and saw the way he was priced up for both races you would be forgiven for thinking that he was being aimed at the intermediate trip. The Saturday entry would bring that into question

I’d anticipate Topofthegame running in the 3m Chase on Saturday, he started him out over 2m 6.5f at Newbury last season and with another year to strengthen up and mature I don’t see him dropping back down to 2m 4f. The galloping track should suit so I’d be hopeful of a promising run despite giving away race fitness.

Cheer pal. Everything Nichols said yesterday (and in his 5 to follow) screamed RSA, so perhaps I've lost the plot. The way I view it, Paul doesn't have the stable depth he once did making Cheltenham winners extremely difficult to come by. Even at this early stage the RSA looks to have a far more competitive shape to it. TOTG has shown a decent enough turn of foot to make me think the trip would be no issue. In the last couple of years Paul has gone the Coral Cup/JLT route with a few of his. Chris Giles (owner) has a history of aiming his here (Ptit Zig, Bitofapuzzle, For Non Stop). On their own not enough to tilt me, but collectively I am hoping that's why he will end up here.

All good, certainly the JLT looks the easier option at this stage. Will see how things go at the weekend as no issues backing him for this as well

Yeah absolutely.

3 miles should be just what he wants as Sean has been banging on about all summer :devilish::highly_amused:

"He hasn't had a setback. He's just a bit weak and immature and I just felt taking him to Cheltenham would be a bit tough on him at this stage of his career,"

Thank you boopa

For those like myself neck deep on the Vinndication train I just noticed Kim Baileys done a ST.

“He ran a nice race when winning at Carlisle the other day and we are waiting for soft ground. He is a very laid back individual and we will just mull over our alternatives at the moment.”

Keeping his cards close on this horse, definitely one for the 365 cover

Hopefully proves good enough in soft ground to warrent a shot at the festival regardless. Not sure Kim Bailey will go so 365 the only option as you say.

Is On the blind side going over fences or staying over hurdles does anyone know? This or the RSA also do we think if so?

He's going over fences but taking a while to come to hand.

Last year I'd have said RSA but Nicky was pretty adamanet that he didn't need mopre than 2m4f last year, and was "proved right" against Nico (who fancied him over further) when he won both his grade 2's over that trip.

I'm also positive that he'd split him and Santini - and Santini only has the 1 race to go for....

93.5/1 with 365 (best price) on that related double ..... now that does tempt me, it really does, as the JLT is one I don't have a strong fancy in yet...

I like champagne classic for this.
Watched all his races back and that of cracking smart and delta work.

I'd have champagne classic in this race. And the other 2 almost certain RSA
