2026 Ryanair Chase

Isn't he likely to go Gold Cup?

4/1 Fact To File now! Tempted to go in again..

….PP 12-1 Jukebox Ry, as low as 6-1 365.
I put it up when talking about Fact To File, no King George winner has ever gone Ryanair.

Guessing Fact To File was just feeling his John Durkan performance a bit or maybe the fast ground. Never looked particularly happy. Plenty of over reactions today to the in the Cheltenham markets!

Pauling;

‘I think you would be daft not to go to the Gold Cup now if he comes out of it well and what a race that will be as well. People crib him for jumping left, but when he goes right handed he is as straight as a die. He is just a bit of a character with a big engine and big heart.

Jukebox should go Ryanair but… he how many chances will they have to win a gold cup

Jukebox looks a proper Kempton horse, less so a Cheltenham horse - I compared him to S Conti and Cland Des Obeaux in a previous post - and they struggled to convert at the festival after their KG wins

I guess it may all depend on what happens in the Savilles, if there’s a shock. I wouldn’t back jukebox for the GC.

Again, I’ve backed F2F to win his second Ryanair at the price

I can see arguments for and against Jukebox going Gold Cup, also Jango.
Be interesting how connections feel about the two and Cheltenham.
Can see both horses having both options at least until their next run.

Honestly don't see The Jukebox Man as a Gold Cup horse. Not this season anyway. He was great today and just about held on over a straight 3m. Pauling could break him though if he sends him to the Gold Cup this early. The extra distance and track layout will see him outstayed comprehensively imo. I was on about this last week, about English trainers having no patience. He has just easily beaten Fact To File. Send him to the Ryanair, prove he has the class and then go full tilt for the Gold Cup next season. British trainers are always in such a rush rather than letting time and maturity take its course.

Yes i do have a juicy price for him for the Ryanair but this isn't pocket talk. I wouldn't have a penny on him for a GC. He wouldn't be sighted even though he has a touch of the Coneygree about him. Coneygree never came back. Don't ruin him Ben.

I thought TJB was headed then ran on, if anything Ben looked to struggle to pull him up after the line, Jango will benefit from the step up too, can see the argument that TJB will love an end to end gallop over 2m5f but...the Gold cup is the Gold cup, if you have one good enough you take your chance.

I agree with this, TJB stayed on well to get back up and win. TBC whether he performs as well at the undulating chelt over further, but as an antepost backer, I am hoping he will do ok, for all that king George winners don’t usually follow up in the GC.

I think they'll see sence and go Ryanair with Jukebox.

No one dreams of owning a Ryanair winner, infact people dont even care about Ryanair winners, not a hope in hell they'll not take their chance at the biggest prize in NH racing over a race that's not even the biggest race on a Thursday in March.

It was the original plan though.....

I'd disagree with this and would agree a GC tilt is the right call for Jukebox as winning today has shown he has the class for a GC. He didn't hold on today imo. He was headed in the run in and fought back to stay on and get his nose in front. I think he's a stayer, as he showed in the AB, and I'm annoyed I didn't have him covered for the GC as just didn't think he would be good enough but he has disproven that today. Today also wasn't the normal Fact To File whose Cheltenham record is 211 over the past 3 years and I think we'll see a very different FTF come 12Mar. I do agree the Ryanair would be a much easier race for The Jukebox Man but he is in his prime so why wait? Connections of Coneygree also did the right thing as he was injury prone. If they had gone for the novice race, he may never have had a chance to run in a GC, nevermind win one.

Flat track today and on quick jumping ground over 2f less than GC.

Could be so much different in March.

It was the original plan though.....
I thought the plan this season was get him to the King George and they hadn't thought much beyond that, was this Ryanair talk from a stable tour or something else ?

Plans change in Horse Racing, as we all know on this Forum, many times to our detriment!

However there are legitimate reasons IMO why the JBM’s festival target has changed

- the way he jumped throughout the race today was exceptional and first time in a open race G1…..(previously thought by some not to be true G1 material)

- the way he fought back showing resolution and that he stays 3m for sure…..(previously thought by some to not truly stay 3m)

- Track record to boot….

- Beat 4 x OR 160 plus rated horses and 2 x OR 170 plus rated horses……he was the joint lowest rated horse on OR 156…

- He’s got to be around OR 166 now and he’ll be 8 next March, so trends say…..

It was an exceptional performance today in an exceptional race, a race that will long in the memory, so he will surely go GC

I think Gaelic has enhanced his GC chances and will also be 8 next year, so should go GC…..however could he go RA, dependent on the Savills result….or/and FTF’s form….

Banbridge will be 10 and got beat out of sight in last years GC so I dont see any success at the festival this season, either GC or RA

Jango Baie will only be 7 next year so, whilst he would have a similar chance maybe as GW in the GC, then there is a chance being so young, that maybe he could go RA this season and GC the following year?

Fact to File didn’t perform to expectations and IMO doesnt stay a true 3m. His festival BANC performance gave us a good indication about his staying ability and all the talk about GC this season was tosh…..last years RA performance means that he goes there again

Prices could contract again on some of the above horses if the Savills result doesn’t go according to the current market prediction's

I think the form is smelly.
I can’t get out of my head how they were all still in a bunch turning for home and then 4 in a line at the post.
Will await the time guys analysis but for now it stinks to me.

Fact To File looked to not put it all in the last day against Gaelic Warrior, watching it I F2F had him covered coming to the last then curled up a little imo, today he looked to not be over that run at all, was being niggled along when they'd barely gone a mile, a good break now might be required as he does seem to come alive at Cheltenham, I'd be looking to get him there fresh as fcuk although I would also want to check all is 100% with his wind. just in case, better to check it now than find a problem later.
