2026 Novice Hurdlers

Punters outside of the FJ family would also have seen a sea of blue for Hyland and most likely many would have backed it themselves (FOMO) thinking connections had made positive comments but clearly that was not the case.

There's loads of reasons for horses moving either way but a large majority have no real substance.

Brilliant post RR.

'A guy was apparently told by one of jp's people at a preview on Wednesday night I think that mighty park was going supreme. '

By passing that info to someone on FJ, knowing we have 100's of followers, they clearly knew that MP would be bet for the Supreme and then later would have been able to trade out for whatever profit.

It stinks, it really does, but you'll never stop it.

We just need to be brave and stick to our guns and wait for any official news on horses. Could be that you lose out sometimes but far less stressful.

Eric mc Namara just said he was told from JPs people that mighty park is going to supreme

Didn't trade a dime out on the back of the news - I actually ended up having a small top up at 10s bfx for the Supreme.

Really didn't have to think I'd have to prove the authenticity of my posts this many years into the forum (y)

To play devils advocate a little

As Gaelic was the 'presumed' Ryanair horse, post DRF, wouldn't the people 'in the know' be taking that 162 @ 8.6, as he would be what 1.75 on the day?

I do understand points made though, I enjoy it, means we're getting close.
Of course they would. Another example of people not really in the know , just guesswork.

'Really didn't have to think I'd have to prove the authenticity of my posts this many years into the forum'

Not saying that at all. Just that the info passed on to you might not be the whole truth.👍

'When there's money to be made in markets people will find a way. These moves over the last few days stink of groups looking to create arbitrage opportunities in illiquid markets'

Well said. And when your target audience is also gullible X users, even more so now when the casual punter gets stuck into Cheltenham, coming in with little or no knowledge of the season so far. Like lambs to the slaughter.

The lack of liquidity on Betfair AP markets has been building for awhile but seems to be at peak level now. It should come with a warning. BEWARE!!
Well said

You wouldn't necessarily want to clear out an order book if you're a bigger player looking to build a position. Anyone looking to build a sizable position would want to scale in incrementally, this allows you to build a position at a certain price without drastically moving it. In market terminology these would be deemed iceberg orders. You show a fraction of your intent at the bid or offer and slowly absorb the other side when liquidity comes to your level.

If the rumors are completely untrue, then what I think is happening is traders have crashed the price of mighty park on the exchanges, which didn't take much to do. Now what they'll do is create iceberg orders at these lows to absorb all backers stakes.

But yeah that would be my thinking...

….Jamie Codd;

If you had to ride one horse in the supreme, who would it be?

The favourite Old Park Star has an obvious chance, but I’d like to ride Harry Fry’s Idaho Sun. He comes into the race fairly under-the-radar despite being a Grade 1 winner. My view is that he’d have beaten Mydaddypaddy even with the hurdles in at Aintree, and I like the fact that he’s been kept fresh since. Some of his rivals, especially the Irish ones, have had hard races on bad ground in the run-up to March, so that could be in his favour. He’s a big, strong horse who came home well in the Champion Bumper last season. I think the hill will play to his strengths again, and if he has the tactical speed to stay in touch turning for home, I think he has a big shout.

In a wide-open Supreme, I’d also give a chance to Baron Noir. He’s got plenty to find on the figures, but he beat El Cairos in a bumper, and I think he still has plenty of scope to improve. Fair play to connections for throwing him in the deep end here.

Speaking of El Cairos, I was in Gordon Elliott’s the other day, and there’s no getting away from it. This is a very smart horse. He might not be Labaik’s price, but he’s got the same gears to burn and has that quirk in him. If he’s on the premises turning for home, he’s in the mix for sure.

If you want to know who I rode at Gordon’s, it was Romeo Coolio. He was bouncing and felt in great order, but I think there’s still a few chats to be had regarding whether he pitches up in the Arkle.

Bit like not going ‘all in’ you mean coz you don’t want everyone to fold? Is that what you’re saying?

If this is aimed at me, I stated very clearly twice yesterday on this topic that there was absolutely no criticism of you at all for passing on what you've heard 👍

The whole point is whether these people of jp's truly know what theyre talking about (or are being intentionally misleading) and whether eric mcnamara knows what he's talking about. Wouldn't be the first time a jp horse has been a big market mover for one race on the back of those sort of whispers, before swinging back the other way very quickly (mystical power as one example).

I guess in poker terms yes something like that. Like having the nuts and betting half the pot to string someone along,

You really dont DJ, some people are always about point scoring, and some are after a rise.
It's that time of year when people get twitchy & any markets moves are either one thing or another everytime, and never the most obvious of things.
You're one of the proper people & always post in good faith imo, you'll have my backing everytime.

Seen few comments from names Im not too familiar with so replying once more..

I don't doubt that but who told him? and so on. It's a dodgy game. We know that.

I said, Eric McNamara said it on a preview, Keep up Lobos ffs

I get all the bollocks that 'are they really in the know' blah blah blah

I passed on comments, thats all

I didnt say cash your turners bets :ROFLMAO:

Mighty Park is providing some much needed post Constitution Hill entertainment. Presumably now we'll move onto Fact to File and Gaelic Warrior, or is that one all agreed, FtF to the RC, and GW to the GC?:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:.

God forbid there's not another biggie that falls by the wayside before tapes up on Tuesday week.

Not to keep going on about it, but one last post in case theres any lingering doubt 🤣

From my end, and most people's end I assume (cant speak for everyone obviously 🤣) none of the posts questioning who exactly these jp people are and whether they know what theyre talking about are in any way sly digs at you if thats how they might come across. Not questioning anything you heard or your mate or whoever.

Just basically trying to warn people if they didnt know already that we've seen similar situations like this before that ended up not turning out the way the market was suggesting, so basically dont do anything too drastic. And obviously I know you weren't saying to do anything drastic anyway 😂👍
