2026 Juveniles

….Skelton re Maestro Conti;

He said: “He is very exciting, but in terms of competition this is chalk and cheese compared to his Kempton Park race. He has to give away a small penalty, but that doesn’t concern me, and it will be different ground, but these are questions to be answered, rather than questions that can’t be.

“Sometimes you go with horse with experience, and you know them inside out, and you go, well can’t give weight away to that and the ground is against us, but I don’t feel like that at all. I feel like we can give the weight away and I feel like we will handle the ground.

“I feel like he is the correct favourite and I feel like he has got loads of ability. I wouldn’t say I expect him to win, but I do feel like he is a very good horse. I think the track will suit him as I think he is a stamina horse. There are a lot of horses that won’t have the stamina he has, but it still remains to be seen. I’ve a lot of respect for the opposition as they are a better bunch than those at Kempton Park. He has got to up his game, but I think he can do that.”

Probably a little better than the bare form from Maestro then.
Might still be a decent price come March.
I thought from that position after second last he did really well to do what he did against a horse that probably ran very efficiently from the front.

….looks like 8-1 best now for Maestro Conti.

Decent performance that, pulled throughout, carried a penalty, still won with a bit in hand, think he's enjoyed the ground more than a few of them.
Mind La Luna Artiste, jockey very easy on her from the 2nd last, bit further wouldn't hurt her either.

Yeah I agree.

Manlaga very disappointing, with Highland Crystal pulling out too.

Triumph looks a cracking race on paper, struggle to be confident on one.

Charme De Faust and Majolique had entries this week but weren't declared so there could be a couple of late gate crashers yet. One of the ones that was declared is a short order tomorrow. I must admit, i have never heard of it.

Don't think we have seen a Kenny Alexander one yet have we? Majolique is with him.

Missed last 2 days of racing so only just catching up to everything now

Great run from Maestro, like others have said, looked like he was set an impossible task to pick up the leader but stormed up the hill, he'll be a force if its strongly run

Manlaga - the warning signs were out early enough with her it seems and for all she ran OK, not Triumph winning form. Seem's Marcel had her ready for her life prior to sale.

As Yosser said above, still few to play their hand yet I feel

Majolique connections hoping can be Triumph level

Charme I put up early - good to see her getting entries

And obviously DRF entrant Selma de Vary

I’m not as sure as you re Manlaga and definitely want to see her again before dismissing, liked the winner too, very gutsy.
They both looked good I thought and drew way ahead of the rest.
The 4th home beaten 32 lengths was only beaten 6 lengths by Highland Crystal.
It may just turn out to be fair form.
Definitely worth keeping in mind imo.

Given JPs depth in the division, and the issues with her homework, I suspect they'll find a weaker race for her and skip the festival.

She'd be third choice at best on jockey bookings so JP would have no issues with swerving

That does make sense and may well prove to be the case.
I’m going to wait a bit more though.
