2026 Gold Cup

You’re not going to want Affordale to get in a rhythm because he can travel and jump quicker than your fella. He can belt the odd one as well of course. Then I’d expect Spillane and the veteran to be tracking the pace and they’ll want to use jukebox’s jumping as well. There’ll be enough pace on I’d say.
So Haiti sitting 3rd/4th waiting to outstay them up the hill ?

I don’t think he jumps quickly enough to hold his position but I wish you luck nonetheless . The world and his wife have latched on to him so he must be showing all the right signs at home.

Big chance in such an open race. Have him, Ino and Jango running for me. Could have Gaelic if F2F wins. Might have a bit on Harry's horse as well. That'll do....😂

Yep I’d say a pretty good chance with that lot.

Who wins the Gold Cup?

Gaelic Warrior - provided there's some ease in the ground

Not sure there'll be a strong pace here (don't rate Haiti Couleurs at Grade 1 level, maybe Stellar Story could help force it a little if declared). I expect The Jukebox Man to race prominently without forcing it (similar to his King George run) and I'd respect his credentials as well as those of Jango Baie provided he isn't compromised by typical hold up tactics off a false pace. I rate Gaelic Warrior as the biggest talent in the race though I think he is not suited by quick ground. He beat the 'best' middle distance horse in the John Durkan, went close in a falsely run King George (where Townend wasn't at his best imo) and did very well to stay on and finish 2nd in a strong Irish Gold Cup despite running incredibly freely in the conditions under Patrick Mullins. I think Paul Townend can get Gaelic Warrior settled prominently and produce him at the right time (as he did so masterfully in the Arkle).

Gaelic Warrior. The expected rain will work in his favour. Townend over the anchor is clearly a massive plus, and the fact Mullins has pulled everything else speaks volumes. Should have won the KG. Tricast of Gaelic, Jango Baie and Haiti Couleurs hanging on for 3rd

Jango!

Or Gaelic.

Seems slightly odd that the King George form I'm expecting to somewhat stand up in the Gold Cup. If in a slightly different order to that bunched finish

Heart - The Jukebox Man, not worried at all about staying, very few have run the gold cup distance before actually running in it. All the evidence we have is he’ll stay for me, good track from (albeit over hurdles) in the Bartlett where he was just run down, was headed in the king George and battled back to win (staying quality imo), is a great jumper and will be able to keep his position.

Head - Gaelic Warrior, with PT onboard I can see him going off very short. Form has been excellent this year. Will stay no problem for me and I don’t doubt PT will get him to settle in midfield and switch off.

Haiti it is for me, strong stayer is what you need to be to win a gold cup ... And I do t see any of the others fitting this..... A little saver on intwut just incase 🤣

I'm in the same heart and mindset

I always for King George horses, and have always had a soft spot for The Jukebox Man after backing him for the AB and narrowing missing out. Backed him for the BANC before his KS win last year, and was gutted when he was injuried. Back for KG, but had more money waiting on Gaelic Warrior. It feels that I've missed out a few times on him, and could still be chasing that 'big win on a horse I want to see do really well'... dammit!

Head - the Irish have dominated the 3 mile division for a while, and I just feel that they will win it again. GW looks the obvious pick, BUT.... it wouldnt shock me if he finished second to another one from Ireland. Tough race. Good race though

This for me too 👍., plus .. on at juicy prices .😂😂.

Affordale fury for me.Has the savils form and can forgive last run when found to be lame. Plus it’s a very wide open year and I’ve a feeling there’s gonna be a bit of a shock!

The 66/1 was definitely the value, although I couldn't get on. Probably remains the value at 33/1. He has won a reasonable Grade 1. He is nearly five times the price of Haiti Couleurs who has won a rubbish Grade 2. That is the terrible price in the list.

I can't believe there are still some in the media banging on about Fact To File not going here. The owner is not completely stupid, clearly he doesn't think he can win a Gold Cup. Not my sort of price, but he should win a terrible Ryanair.

O don’t think HC will jump or travel well enough , especially on quicker ground. If GW settle he should see out the trip and I’d be expecting him to be bang there at the finish . IMO F2F wouldn’t see out the trip well enough , for me he looked to be emptying up the hill when he won the Banc so Ryanair the right call.
