2026 Gold Cup

Is Stellar Story on anyone’s shortlist at 100/1? Form possibly not that solid but winning the Albert Bartlett and second in the RSA… the related double with The Jukebox Man in the Ryanair (2024 Bartlett 1-2) is a ridiculous price.
I've backed him as well as Jagwar at 66/1. It may well be a mistake, but it won't cost much.

I fancy him more a Grand National sort myself. Thorough stayer but I am not sure he would have the pace to keep up in a Gold Cup. Corach Rambler just about managed it but not sure on Stellar. Could be wrong, I do like the horse but just my opinion. And you know what opinions are...... :D

Also Myretown and Ballyburn at 100/1.
Myretown is one I am dabbling on. Lucinda wants to train him like a Gold Cup horse and Scudamore sniggered when she said it and she then said "why not?"

I looked at this just the other day, seems to be a forgotten horse, though does need some cut I think but at 100/1 may well be worth a poke….

Be mindful re both Jango and Jingko as they both had surgery at the end of last season. Jango had a screw put in his leg and Jingko had back operation. Only minor I think but not sure how long both will be out.

Got a real soft spot for him from the Bartlett win so iv already taken the 100s and also stuck a quid on that related double a couple of months back, was 4,140/1 at the time. Good chance he doesnt win before Cheltenham but has run his race 2/2 at the track so I cant not back him.

Yeah I caved and had a tiny play today, looks to be complete disrespect in last season's BANC form.
Thanks @Ballyfitz for pointing him out earlier in the week...

Haiti Coleurs into 25/1 from 40's with Fred. Cut to 25's with several others as well today.

Take no notice......it's just bloody Pricewise putting him up !!

Don't get the Haiti Coleurs hype myself.

Seen a few mention him on YouTube videos aswell, and as admirable as he is, and been fantastic for connections, he's not close to being a Gold Cup horse, IMO.

Grand National I could get on board with but not the Gold Cup.

Could be another Native River?

Agree….If he was 6 going on 7 in his second season chasing, then maybe……but he will be 9 next year and where is the 20lbs improvement going to come from eh?

I’d have thought that there is to much quality 3m chasers around at the moment for a Native River year
Just look at the improvement this year's winner made.
I'm not so sure the GC is that deep? Especially if F2F goes Ryanair again. Galopin could be on the decline. What Gaelic will turn up ? We are then left with a whole load of potential improvers.

No.

Big difference between the pair, IMO. Haiti Coleurs won a 0-145 handicap off 135, Native River finished 2nd in the NH Chase off levels, against 19 rivals, and was rated 149 (highest rated in the race was 153).

I really like Haiti Coleurs, but getting to Gold Cup level isn't just a step up, it's about 3 steps up from what he's been racing against, over the trip.

I wouldn't mind him running in the race as a GN prep though, tbh!

Last years winner was only 7 and Haiti will be 9

‘Potential improvers’ include a host of second season chasers

Continued support for him again today. All 33's now gone.

At 40/1 Haiti Couleurs was a dart. Not sure now. Be amazed if he improved enough to be a single figure price by the time the race came round. However, can also see him having place potentials in a race in which there are a few doubts on the opposition.

He'll certainly need to improve immensely but it clearly is possible. A deep ground Festival would help him as well.
