2026 Champion Bumper

Having partnered Love Sign D’Aunou at Cheltenham on Monday morning, Patrick Mullins has opted to ride Susannah and Rich Ricci’s promising five-year-old in the Weatherbys Champion Bumper on Wednesday.

However it was his performance on debut at Naas rather than his work at home that has swayed the jockey his way.

“Love Sign D’Aunou travelled over well and was very good on Monday morning so I’m going to ride him in the bumper,” he told Sporting Life.

“It’s a tricky one. Quiryn and The Irish Avatar would probably be better work horses but this fella put in the best performance so I’m going to go on that but I’m far from certain that I’m right.”

He cant do the weight on Quiryn - there are rumours he would have preferred him if he could.

Got out of heldam 100% free.Had backed with 365 bet credits and NRMB Coral :)

Jody is the best around in my opinion.

Don't feel like she's been riding as much this year though

If you like an outsider in the bumper, go on the exchange where they're circling before the start. My wife wanted Relegate the year she won (she was backing female jockeys all day) 25s across the board, think we got some 48s iirc on the exchange before the off

Just watched The Wagers win back and stayed on really well and strong at the line on fairly quick ground. Think the drying ground and stiff track will suit and looks the perfect ride for Jody. Sit quiet and pick them off up the hill. I'll see how many places I can get

Looking as if The Irish Avatar will go off a bigger price than he ever has been after his win. Is it just down to Cobden? Even if there is nothing wrong with the horse, don't see that booking as a plus.

The Wager as big as 90.0 on the exchanges.

Will be playing the outsiders for small amounts
