Going off the price he did I'm assuming so. The mission now is to get his mark down for the boodles you'd imagine. The winner might just have too much speed for the jumpers.

If he did then there is a case that Burdett is on par with Jigme’s performance.

Flat bred so might just be too quick for the jumpers. You'd imagine he'll be better on quicker ground also.

Time for second race also pretty slow for "Soft"
Slowest time run in the race by 9 seconds or so.

He’s ran pretty quickly when actually asked to do something on soft ground there
Better ground would suit him more no doubt
Needs to improve jumping imo, but that was impressive on that ground.

Yep, jumping needs brushing up. He sets the standard for sure. Need to see Sir Gino and Mullins' french imports now.

Concur with everything been said here with regards Burdett Road. Was suitably impressed to nab 10/1 after the race and it's not often I do that as I like to sit back and assess the form and run a little later with a clear head. However, though his jumping needs a little improvement, there is still 4 months till the Festival to iron it out. He travelled so well in a reasonable field with Cobden happy to settle him a couple of lengths out the back. But to then run up the hill like that is something I can't recall seeing before from a 3yo! To do so also on ground arguably softer than he may prefer was a sight to see. I'm usually reluctant to get carried away with these flat horses turning to jumps but at a double figure price and likely to turn up at Cheltenham unbeaten then he had to be got onside.

My biggest concern is they over race him. He had a long season on the flat running 11 times between the end of October 2022 and end of August 2023, only missing two months when not having a race. Now two runs in the space of a couple of weeks. Think I would prefer to see him given a nice winter break before brought back for a prep in February.

Cobden must have a serious set of hands on him to get that horse to settle

I think the horse has won by too far to say that without a brilliant ride he wouldn't have won

I was agreeing with you. Just providing another example of hyperbole in a winning ride.
In this instance though it’s very hard to tell how successful Cobden was in settling the horse.
I’d go 6/10 jockeys myself.

At least half his jumps were excellent and quick
Just lacks a bit of respect

Could also counter that with just two hurdles in the final 6 furlongs on the new course so will have more opportunity to use his flat speed potentially to get into position. Think handicappers is a little harsh on the opposition. Milan Tino was only 3 3/4 lengths behind Jigme in a grade 2 and his form is consistent from his two runs. An Bradan Feasa already had an Irish maiden hurdle win and is very well bred. Right horses in behind not to doubt the form. Obviously not easy to assess juvenile hurdle form with so little to go on. A lot depends on how you see Milan Tino. Jigme was fav for the Triumph in some quarters and finished 3 3/4 lengths ahead of MT in a race, Burdett Road has beat it 7 lengths running away.

Certainly look forward to the rest of his season and seeing whether this was just a flash in the pan or he really can transfer his flat class to hurdles at a higher level.

Hard to say he's ran to form there for me personally..

But yeah, will definitely be interesting if he ends up taking on say a Sir Gino once hes won on debut..
