2024 Novice Hurdlers

….Brighterdaysahead the subject of favourable reports, now a best price 10-1 MNH but Hills still go 10-1 in their any race market (20-1 with this weeks double boost).

I know I'm the ultimate doom monger on all things accounts related but it is clearly a mistake that Hills have a horse 10/1 in their any race market and either the same price or shorter in a specific race market, to then use the double boost and get 20/1 has to asking for trouble.
Great if you can get away with it but I know Sky were hot on restricting accs of those who took same/bigger prices on their any race or request markets.
It really doesn't take much to lose an account these days and there isn't a queue of new bookmakers waiting to enter the market...

Totally agree with Istabraq on this - I took 10/1 for Zanahiyr to place any race with Sky last year, which was highlighed on here but was a palpable error. Sky messaged to say that tthey'd honour the bet, but shortly after I found myself restricted to max winnings with them. Fortunately it's not quite enough to really hamper me to date, but I reckon these are great ways for them to identify those who really know what is a good bet, and therefore who should be restricted/lose an account... Whilst I fortuitously won on my 10/1 bet, I really wish I hadn't. Don't do it - it's not worth it.

That is the flukiest bet win of all time isn't it. I did the same as you. To see him in the wrong race (we all thought Stayers) and all out to beat an eased down Vauban :glee::glee::glee:

Exar Essay I'd actually written it off and forgotten about it, so it was a nice surprise to win it - I couldn't work out why I had extra money in the Sky account for a few minutes until I checked settled bets! Still, ever since then I've resisted the temptation to place any more. I've already got restrictions on a couple of accounts and don't want to lose any...

Re Brighterdaysahead, why is she so well fancied on here ? Did she put up a very good Bumper rating or has she been talked up by connections or both ??

Basically gordons horse for this year coming out from everyone at the yard, everyone really excited by her

Mystical Power has an entry in the Boyle Sports Nov Hurdle at Tipperary. Same race Champ Kiely won last year.

Aurora Vega, Sharjah, Zarak The Brave, Envoi Allen all with upcoming entries as well

Great to see the season slowly warming up

Great so see the season slowing warming up

Interesting that they waited until the Autumn to give A Vega her next run
she's moving up Willie's list !

You are very persistent with her Lobos I'll give you that :watermelon:

No rush to go hurdling this season, she's just a diddly little thing.

Almost identical build to her mother who was short, small but very strong. She didn't do too bad.

She'll be 6 come March. Don't believe they'll keep her to Bumpers.

She can only have so many Bumper runs. Will they hold her back and not run her for a whole season? Entered in a winners listed Bumper the end of this month which will be her 3rd Bumper Run if she takes it up. If she bolts up there who knows. I'm keeping the faith.

Are there restrictions for the amount of bumpers run you can have in Ireland?

Can only have three bumper runs before Champion Bumper these days can't you?

Not exactly your question but I assume that's the point Lobos was getting towards.

And can't run in a Bumper as a 6yo . Those are the rules in UK though. Not sure about Ireland. I know Patrick wants her to win a listed Bumper before Willie sends her over hurdles so hopefully the race at the end of this month will be her last flat run. They could of course just run in that and then hold her back until March if they thought she was up to it. We'll see. Depends on the quality of his other Novice Mares I suppose.

Edit..... obviously can't do the last bit as she'll be 6 on Jan 1st. So fucking confusing!!!!

At this moment in time she looks quite out of the ordinary, looking forward to her taking on stiffer competition id say shell be more then fine, usually though mullins will enter a mare into the royal bond as one of his main hopes for the novice mares

She'll have to go some to run in the Royal Bond !

Yeah I knew the rule for UK bumper runners, but didn't know if that applied to IRE also.

It will be a slow and steady campaign I'd say, and personally, doubt we'll see her at Cheltenham in March.
