2024 Novice Chasers

Anyone know why Meetingofthewaters was pulled out tomorrow??

Was interested in backing him for the NHC after his owner namechecked that race or the Ultima for the festival before he goes for the GN.

Both he and Embassy Gardens are already qualified (and the only two of Willie's to have qualified I think) so they may well be Willie's two for the race. Two nice darts for him as well.

I'd imagine they don't want to ruin his mark for whatever the end game is with him.

Good news for connections of Spectres syndicate though, with one less to worry about.

Yeah Patrick says it’s national via Cheltenham. And 147 looks a great mark to be going to the GN off so why run again?

Running in the Ultima or NHC wouldn't affect his GN mark would it ??

I’m slightly biased as he won me a pretty penny in the Triumph a few years ago but he was always likely to bounce back to his best today, the Florida Pearl misfire was a combo of bounce & a complete misread on his optimum trip.

He wasn’t your bog standard run of the mill juvenile in his Triumph winning year either, he looked to have loads of improvement in the locker & the 4yr old form in behind Teahupoo doesn’t look half bad in hindsight now.

He has good place terms in the Arkle with course form in the book, I’m aftertiming here as I haven’t been able to get on here in ages but took 50/1 e/w prior to the initial Naas meet.

You say that but he was actually declared for the race... The handicap mark had been awarded when the weights were allocated earlier in the week so there was really no need to spend money declaring if that was the case?

I'm assuming they intended to run him. He was pulled because of a cough I believe.

Yep, very easy. Certainly a better chaser than Hurdler. On a line through the 3rd there it puts him close to Marine Nationale so there's hope.

Think Marine had at least a further 8 lengths in him . Imagine that Hunters is 2nd fav after that ?

Grey Dawning won well today

Fair tool on soft ground

Broadway Boat and Apple away seemed to cut each others throats and Skelton sat just off them and picked up the pieces

Suspect the ultima or NHC will be the destination of the 2nd/3rd

If they go to Cheltenham that is

They may target Aintree with apple away having won there last season


Think that perhaps puts into context the strength of flooring porters form over fences

Think the home team has a solid chance in this race unless fact to file is a monster
