2023 Novice Hurdlers

Realisation has just bolted up against a decent field in a Bumper at Bangor. Between Waters put 8l into him without breaking a sweat in her PTP …

That doubles looking nice now. Cheers for posting the entry earlier!

Just hope BW makes it there now. Hendo has a few options!

Well done guys. Nicky does like her a lot by the sounds of it !

Cracking shout on the related double, think you've all got yourselves a serious bet.

I really really like Between Waters, she's my only cash bet for the Mares Novice Hurdle so far, I just hope we see her. Her breeding is lovely, and so she backed it up on the track in her p2p just makes her even more exciting. She got a decent RPR for that, and clearly the form is working out well too :encouragement:

Talking of related doubles .........the only horse to so far beat Constitution Hill runs at Ascot on Saturday........... Anyharminasking. Runs in the same race that trainer Jonjo Soaring Glory won. Been the plan since picking up a minor injury that stopped him running in County Hurdle.

Needs pricing for ballymore.
I bet people jump on supreme but much more likely further being by galileo.

Yep, I agree :encouragement: Previous Ballymore winner, Windsor Park, was by Galileo too.

Slightly off-piste but I had Sargent Wilson in my tracker from last year and it looks like he has his own ideas about the game. He won his sole bumper after getting loose at the start by 17l:

And then today on his first start over hurdles decided he didn't fancy jumping and ducked out at the first hurdle.

He could be the next Mad Moose :boxing:

Hills go 20/1 Supreme. Nothing about the Ballymore yet.

High definition has been destined for the Albert bartlett since he was 3

He is a big boat

As already mentioned, that was a very nice form boost for Between Waters yesterday. Peaky Boy was very well fancied at the track and was an expensive purchase himself and Realisation dealt with him comfortably. When you consider BW gave that horse a very straight forward beating and was giving her 10lb to boot, she must be some tool. Very excited by her!

If Nicky brings her out this season over hurdles I'd say this is a clue in itself. He has Luccia and Ahorsewithnoname for the race already (both at the top end of the market), plus some other nice fillies/mares he noted. She is only 4, so will be 5 for the festival, she could easily have had a year in bumpers. He brought out Constitution Hill aged 4 last season despite having the likes of Firestep, Russian Ruler, Surrey Quest and not to mention, Jonbon, as decent to really good novice hurdling options, again he could have gone down the bumper route but decided against this.

Is there any suggestion she won't be hurdling COD? I thought Nicky said he expected her to take high rank in mares novice hurdles in his stable tour and sure he said she jumps very well? I hadn't even considered this possibility tbh!

No, as far as I'm aware it's all systems go for hurdling, as per what Nicky said, my point was more that if he's not holding her back for bumpers at her age then he must think she's very good. He usually sends them to bumpers before hurdling, I believe. He'd have no reason to go down the Mares Novice Hurdle route with her as he already has two of the market leaders for the race anyway, so she must be doing plenty right at home, IMO.

Yes makes sense :encouragement: Fingers crossed!

HdB mentions An Tobar looks more of a staying type. Have added him at 25/1 for the Bartlett to cover the 20/1 for the Ballymore already done.

Done the same, still think he wins the ballymore in 5 months time though
