In both instances both opinions had a degree of merit to them, yet I find it funny how it actually ends up playing out.

Anyone fancy doubting Bob Olinger for next season? :highly_amused:

Degree of merit as in being completely accurate?

It would appear that Bob Olinger didn't fancy a battle that he was losing. Whether that was mental or physical we'll probably never know but HdB hasn't yet come out with any news of an identified physical problem. What is not in doubt is that he had a very tough race and Myska's problem only appeared in the race after her listed slog in the Taunton mud.

Seems like it was and is physical. Just seen a tweet from Josh Stacey from yesterday that Bob has torn a muscle in his near hind quarter, and is currently receiving physio. Out for the rest of the season.

I assume torn muscles, like in humans, can be gotten over, with time, and I'm sure he will be given plenty of time. Ideally he would have been pulled up in the Turners, as to reduce the risk of worsening it, but unlike humans, say in a running race, horses won't just pull themselves up.

What injury did Myska sustain, out of interest?

I'm slightly puzzled that it's taken so long to diagnose a pulled muscle and doubt that it's the whole story. Time will tell.

Myska had a palate issue. It could probably have been fixed by an operation but she was leased and the important people decided that she had done enough to be a broodmare so the expense wasn't justified. She went back to the breeder.

Ah fair enough archie, thanks for clarifying :encouragement:
