First of all, incredibly glad that GDC seems OK - I was convinced he'd broken his ankle when he got up, was eating lunch at the time and put it down for a couple of minutes until it was confirmed he was OK.

Secondly, glad that Bob has got a number of you out of trouble today.

Thirdly, guess which guy cashed the only Bob bet he had left (a Bob, Honey, Elimay treble) for a decent profit, to replace it with several bets on GDC.. still think that was the right decision making process, but I'm fighting to get even as things stand - hopefully Flooring Porter sorts me out soon!

This race caused the almighty of shocks also last year when Envoi Allen fell, and now this.

We all need GDC on our team next year but wouldn't like to even guess. I'd had him down as RSA gold cup route and had backed accordingly. Gold cup seems very unlikely now.

I honestly cannot see where he'll fit in. Allaho, Energumene same races again as this year?

Where do we think he'll best fit in?

….as low as 3-1 Ryanair, I suppose 5/2 any race with Sky is a consideration.

No value this far out at 5/2, could get that a few days before next festival boosted with a double.

GDC is one to leave til NRNB for me I think, he's never going to be any sort of price for anything to begin with so better to just have more on with the safety net when the time comes.

He's 10s Champion chase. 6s Ryanair and best priced 5s gold cup.

Like I said, no sort of price IMO, not when you can get the two times Stayers hurdle winner at 6s with 2023 target nailed on (6s antepost is naff regardless, but relatively speaking with the game as it is now). Energumene goes back to the CC because, why wouldn't he?! Ryanair a possibility for GDC as Cheveley mentioned that Allaho giving the GC a crack was always a possibility next year, but he's just won it easily again and they own the horse that just won a GC by half the course. If you have a strong opinion then 10/6/5's are fair enough, but for me he's one to put points aside for and see what's what NRNB time or if the picture becomes clearly in the meantime, which is certainly not right now.

Really interesting piece my Simon Rowlands today on ATR. Has GDC 10 lengths down on Allaho at the last. I’d timed it as about 1.5 seconds down myself but thought I’d got it wrong.

As good as GDC looked, it does make you pause for thought. Makes me think something must’ve been up with Bob to me in trouble so far out too.

Look how short and awkward looking bobs stride was at the finish

Convinced he injured himself slightly in some way when clouting the 4th last

Yeah I think so too, his jumping was just ok through the race too and was never too far behind. When Rachael asked him there was not much response. Now for all that Galopin looks a weapon, Bob has one of the best engines we’ve seen over the last couple of years in novice hurdling and novice chasing so there has to be some sort of issue.

….not heard anything from HdB but really hope they put him away for the season. I have him to go unbeaten but I’m more concerned he looked in such a poor state at the end of that race.

You could be on the money. HDB said Rachel reported Bob making a funny noise after he jumped the fourth last.

The jockey also said, "At the fourth-last, I thought I'd be travelling a bit better", so never particularly going well.

I'm guessing the noise from the horse was along the lines of, "f*** this for a game of soldiers, he's just too good".

It was just about my best result of the week but not sure I'll be quite as lucky again!

Bob won me a good chunk and had El Barra at 250/1 ew and 125/1 ew, so neither of those were going to collect. I might still have won the biggest winning distance of the week as I'd be fairly sure GDC was going to put a huge distance between himself and BO by the line.
