Anyone aware of the Ricci purchase, Vauban ?
I can’t see a great deal from his flat form to get excited about but he’s on record as saying he hasn’t been as excited about any horse they bought off the flat since Saldier…

ATR highlighted him 2 month ago when he was bought by Ricci, had an impressive turn of foot that day albeit that was over 1m3f.

Likely to be on the Heavy side of Soft so hopefully it's not too bad for him to run. Can't have it both ways !

fitness , and heavy ground , hurdling wasn't great either , would liked to see him closer at the end , need to see another run before making my mind up
 
I think its too soon to rule him out, jumping needs work and the ground may not have helped but definitely can't rule out just yet.
 
Not the best start but I don’t make knee jerk reactions with novices and juveniles after one run. Iberique Du Seuil could prove to be muck but I put up Gaillard Du Mesnil last season and he got stuffed on debut too; he didn’t turn out too badly in the end.

He still looks very green, he'll be a totally different horse after Christmas. I took Iberique Du Seuil at 33/1 before the run, obviously disappointing but I wouldn't rule out a small bet at 66/1.
 
Ground looked testing which really suited the race fit winner being by mud lover Fast Company whereas IDS looked like he hated it. Jumped and travelled well enough. Mistake 2 put when trying to make ground didn't help and got very tired and not given a hard time from there. Judge him on better ground and with a run under his belt.

I’m not one for making excuses and will call it muck if it is, but I’m certainly going to give him one more chance to prove himself before I bin anything. He’s got very limited racetrack experience in any discipline and also might need more time to acclimatise too.

Absolutely. He's been ready to run for a while now and has been pulled a couple of times which wouldn't have helped. Going Left handed may help as well.
 
Porticello is entered for his debut with Gary Moore on Friday in the Listed Juvenile at Wetherby
 
I decided after Adjali & Pic D’Orhy to add the Triumph to the list of races I leave alone antepost, hopefully Iberique Du Seuil will make me learn my lesson :welcoming:
