I spoke to Munir about Dark Raven in passing and he said hurdles and 2 miles to me. This was a private message on Twitter.

just thought I’d jump in there, apologies for butting in!!

Brilliant. Thanks for that. He's my horse to follow this season but have only been tapping away at TWAR. Will get on for Supreme now.

I love the way he hits the line in both of his bumpers - fast run 2m novice hurdle sounds perfect to me for him

TOTG - if you’ve got a line into Munir would you mind asking him the plans for Blue Lord this season please? Can’t find anything so far & wondering if they’re going Arkle or Champ Hurdle route? He hasn’t responded when I’ve asked before.

mhm, that's a lot of 2 mile mullins novices then, possible county hurdle plot?

No worries pal, I will try and ask the question!

All I asked about was

James Du Berlais - who’s going chasing and could possibly follow Footpad route to the Arkle.
Impulsive one - too early to tell if he will be a top Juvenile (was before today’s loss)
O’Toole - difficult to know which trip he will be best over. Too early to tell.

not a whole heap of help but happy to share if anyone wanted that :smile-new:

Interesting re JDB. Munir does like the Arkle. Maybe adds weight to one of Ferney or Appreciate It stepping up to the Marsh.

Looking for some other than kilcruit and sir gerhard for both supreme and ballymore… don’t fancy any english horses tho with the recent Irish dominance

I wouldn’t normally disagree but there seems to be exceptionally high hopes from I am Maximus from the Hendo camp and amidst the Irish domination he is one trainer who can still get a G1 winner, especially in this race…

Yeh I agree Itsa. Im living in camp Ireland ante post but have dipped my toe in a few of Nicky's. He's won it a couple of times in recent years.

Patrick thinks he's a stayer. Lazy at home keeps finding when asked on the track.

I read the analysis for I Am Maximus bumper win before and it said this regarding the knee action, only an opinion of course but I hadn’t paid this horse much attention till recently when rewatching that bumper.

I AM MAXIMUS, from a yard that excels with its runners in bumpers, took a bit of organising but he put in some sterling work in the final quarter-mile and was always holding the runner-up. A half-brother to Flat winners Pointel (1m2f/1m6f; RPR 90), Plumetot (French 1m inc at 2/AW; 86) and Essentielle (French 1m1f-1m4f), he has an exaggerated knee action and probably needs give in the ground to be at his most effective

Thanks for posting Madmoose. I've just re-watched too, and it's not over-exaggerated so you wouldn't expect him to be too ground dependant I don't think. It's certainly not one of those round actions that you'd associate with a mudlover. My take is good to soft wouldn't cause any inconvenience at all. He looked to outstay My Drogo slightly though and a step up beyond the minimum wouldn't be a problem.

At least he's guaranteed give on the first day.

Guily Billy entered in a 2m Maiden hurdle at Wexford on Sunday

Guilly billy - Supreme
Sir Gerhard - Ballymore
Classic Getaway - Bartlett

easy as that then :biggrin-new:

I'd be pretty confident Sir Gerhard would suit a strongly run supreme imo

Jumping Jet entered on Sunday at Galway in a 2m Maiden. Runs for G Elliott, owned by Robcour.

Won a bumper by 29 lengths
