Yeah Nicky had both Chantry and Shiskin in this 2 years back so if good enough i expect Jonbon and IAM appear here.

He has more than one runner most years and also had Altior and Buveur D’air finish first and third too.

I think Hendo is losing the plot but he’s brilliant at this sport even if he is becoming more erotogenetic with age!!

He’s ran two in the supreme a few times and it’s a statement race for him, to win the opening race and grab the headlines so it’s very possible he will run Jonbon and I Am Maximus in the opener if they progress as expected.

I think so.

He would rather run two in it, than put one in the wrong race for them.

If that's how it ends up, IMHO.

Sprinter Sacre was 3rd in the Supreme, beaten by his stablemate Spirit Son (2nd).

Altior beat Buveur D'Air in it.

Shishkin beat Chantry House and Allart in it.

I think in the last 10 years he has run 2 or 3 in it, Six if not Seven times.

History says he does run both if both are 2M hurdlers, rather than force one into the Ballymore.

Also he loves the Supreme-Arkle route, so if he thinks Jonbon is his next Arkle runner he would normally use the Supreme in his Novice Hurdle year.

MY MATE MOZZIE
did what I hoped he'd do. He's a lovely horse and he loves a bit of nice ground. I don't know how he'd get on on winter heavy but he looks a nice festival horse. I wouldn't like to run him on heavy. We could go for the nice ground at Leopardstown and maybe on to the spring. He's a very straightforward horse and has been good since day one. The good ones are easy to train - Gavin Cromwell, trainer

Leopardstown is the Grade 1 over 2 Miles.

The 2M4F Grade 1 is at Naas in January

I want to see his RPR for yesterday. Anything 140+ I'm getting excited and having a proper bet, and 135-139 and I'll top up my initial bet.

I'll elaborate further in my diary after I've seen his RPR and and got the stake on I want.

Yep, he'll need to be in this ballpark (whilst he could improve if not), for me to be thinking he'll be a challenger at the festival.

I was doing some research this morning on previous novice hurdlers for the Supreme & Ballymore against MMM, hoping his RPR would be up but it wasn't unfortunately!

When will he RPR be live after yesterdays run?

Thanks FM. In range. That's good news and backs up the visual impression.

Spectre out of curiosity do you wager many bets or bigger than usual off the back of what the RPR is? Or is it more if it aligns with yours and gives you a bit more confidence.

Henderson also targets the Cheltenham Festival with his best horses and has a much better crop of novice hurdlers this season so I’m sure he will be aiming to make up for the embarrassment of not having anything to compete in the novice hurdle races last season.

He has a better crop at this stage, as everythings a machine....we'll see how they feature on the track ahhaa

Have been trying to find a couple that Gordon may send to the supreme in view of his excellent run/win/place ratio in the race. Backed the obvious Gerri Colombe who has been well discussed on here but also remembered someone putting up Mighty Potter (step forward whoever you were). Never heard of him so checked Gordon's latest Stable Tour and the write up was very appealing. Gordon certainly likes him a lot. Watched his Bumper win back and he certainly showed a good turn of speed off a slow pace. At 50/1 what's not to like??!!

What’s not to like? Probably ten other horses higher up my shortlist than him :devilish:

In all seriousness, if you’re backing a load of runners in the race at prices, he’d be worth including I guess. I have a feeling this race will revolve around Mullins and Henderson again and it’s only Mozzie outside of those yards that I’d currently fancy to land a blow.

Think I've done those other 10 ! Surely you can't ignore old Gord? When he sends one there it normally counts. I can't bring myself to get Mozzie on board. The trainer just doesn't do it for me for the Novices and the fact he said he may have a few extra flat runs puts me off big time.

I won’t be ignoring Gordon in the Ballymore and AB but he’s only ever won the Supreme once with that nut job Labaik so not much of a legacy in the race. I also find that Gordon’s sourcing process lends itself to horses over the middle-to-staying trips.

Gordon's record in Supreme over last 10 seasons...

Runners 8 Winners 1 (25/1)
Placed 3 (2nd or 3rd)

Full placings....74139522

You are right, he doesn't run many but when he does he has to be respected.

(Info stolen from our super statto Saxon.....cheers SW.....see, I do take it in !):eagerness:

This is where I'm at which is why I thought Abacadabras had no chance.
I was right, by a whisker.:chargrined::courage:
Sticking to it though, especially with his novice chasers as he's not really come close, in some poor renewals too.
Felix Desjy my fucking arse.
I know it's not with him anymore, but Ballyadam my arse as well.

That sort of backs up my point about Gordon sourcing a different type of horse though as he doesn’t even average a runner per year.
