2022 Novice Hurdle Division

A horse called First Street entered up at Newton Abbott on friday over 2miles 5 furlongs . Trainer is Nicky Henderson .
and owned by Lady Bamford and Alice Bamford ,. Don't know if of any interest , but didn't they have a good horse with N.H before .....
Just looked , They have Adrimel and Sky Pirate ... so might be worth keeping an eye on.

Not the best form in the world, and I'm sure Nicky doesn't send any of his best out this early.

I would say he will be similar to Mister Coffey of the same ownership and trainer, not one for winning at graded level but will win the odd race along the way

Will see his form tomorrow when the horse he beat by a length last time runs

I Am Maximus smashed across the boards in a short period today. Bet365 50's down to 20's and every other biggish price has been battered . Take a bow whoever allerted us all to the half century price.....Boom Shackalacka

Promising news, hopefully! The 50s have stuck out like a sore thumb for a ages.

Yes but the fact that every other bookie shortened up within the space of 1 1/2 hours suggests it's a little more than punters just grabbing value.

Nothing wrong with that. I've been betting AP on the fez for 40 years and still get the same feeling. Of course they may never even make the racecourse again but boy does it feel good getting a lovely AP price and being several steps ahead of the market. F**k the bookies.

The price cut on I Am Maximus is a bit extreme but something to be expected from Bookies who massively over react in the antepost markets for the Festival.
I was impressed with I Am Maximus’s bumper, he worked hard for the win but on the ground that day at Cheltenham he displayed all the attributes a novice horse needs to win a race like the supreme. He progressed up the hill nicely even if he had been off the bridle a while back. He’s a young horse and appeared headstrong that day but a year older under the guidance of the one of the best trainers ever will hopefully set him up well for a progressive season over hurdles.
I’ve backed him at 50’s for both Supreme & Ballymore but will top up on both when I see an entry just in case he’s better than what many of us think.
 
It will have taken a tiny amount of money to cut a price from 50/1 to 20/1. A dozen tenners each way in 24 hours plus the Ferguson mention would probably do the trick. Last time I looked, there had only been about ?8k matched on Betfair Exchange for the entire Supreme field.

That said, 50/1 is still a good price and a good spot. 20/1 less so.

I think they were standout 25s yesterday so probably a correction to avoid further interest…

Bloody big correction to halve in price. Good money with Betfair as well this morning.
 
I Am Maximus still 25/1 with Ladbrokes (28/1 boosted) for those who wanted to get involved but missed out on the bigger prices.

Obvious additional risk being the lack of cash out with them on ante post bets though.

See what the decs are tomorrow but Gordon could unleash Chemical Energy, Glenglass and Gringo D'aubrelle on saturday in maiden hurdles. The last two bought bay the Morans for 155k and 270k respectively

Glenglass also in a bumper on sunday
