I have a habit of dropping a few messages to trainers and connections. One who replied was Billy Aprahamian (Nicky Hendersons assistant) when I asked about I am Maximus. He didn't say much but he did say that he is in great form and to keep my eyes peeled for an appearance. I was really surprised (and even more grateful) to get a response so I thought I'd share with everyone.

Any information regardless of how small it may seem is valuable as far as I am concerned. Great to know that IAM is fit and in good form at home and I look forward to seeing him on track.

That's the race I have him down for. Hopefully I can find out a bit more although I won't get too carried away.

Me too Ice , Supreme , but done in the B/more as well , just in case .... with cashout available.

Yeah, probably wise to cover the ballymore and at 50's and 33's it doesn't need too much on.
 
Got my jumpers to follow digital edition through today, and the sheer number of novice hurdlers Willie Mullins has for this coming season is staggering.

I know he always has them in droves but the quality (on paper anyway) seems to have been upped for this year.

Still waiting for the postman to deliver mine. Anything of note re appreciate it and ferny hollow in there?

Me three Ice. Backed him in singles and plenty of multiples for The Supreme and covered him for The Ballymore just in case. He is still a young horse and I think they will start off at the minimum trip and maybe up him in trip as he matures. The form of his bumper win is good and a year off the track will have done him the world of good IMO.

I got the book version so have a few days to wait I imagine, anything much said about I Am Maximus? He's the main one i'm keen as mustard for info on.

Nothing I've seen so far re Appreciate It that wouldn't already be known.

Re Ferny, take it with a pinch of salt as it's come out of Patrick Mullins' mouth but he's said he looks like a chaser and champion hurdle winners don't tend to look like him. Caveated with "we've got plenty of time to go through options" and all the usual stuff where he doesn't really commit one way or the other!

Out of the non-Mullins horses, Patrick put up letsbeclearaboutit, journey with me and my mate mozzie. So this forum is hopefully on the right track.

Jeremiah McGrath says he was sick in the winter after his win but there are high hopes for him this season. Says he's wants slower ground which is why he's wasn't risked in the spring.

Worth noting My Mate Mozzie is a clear Albert Bartlett trends horse based on Saxon's analysis. Hopefully (for me anyway), JWM beats him there next March!

Still says he's impressive to do what he did on debut, might just be a softly softly approach they're taking.

Jamie Codd is very sweet on Jonbon by the sounds of it, he never rode him in P2Ps but still taken with him. So Henderson is well equipped for novice hurdles anyway!

That'd actually be typical P Mullins putting up 3 horses for potentially the same race :beaten:
 
How much was the digital copy of One Jump Ahead compared to the book? Cant remember seeing an option for a digital version but would definitely opt for that version next year if you get it earlier. Any idea when books will be sent out?
 
Jumpers to follow Digital edition on weatherbys shop 9.95, paper 11.95. Both published today so assume paper copy delivered shortly after.

Had to stop reading before I gave myself eye strain lol

Nice win there by Luttrell Lad on hurdles debut to blow away the cobwebs. I could see Hobbs sending this lad to the Persian War next month like he did with Thyme Hill.

He was 4th in the Aintree Bumper last year and had a record of 2114 last season
