2022 Novice Hurdle Division

Iberique Du Seuil seems to be starting early enough, I'm thinking he'll be campaigned as a handicap job for the Boodles myself, and tempted to back the TWAR price prior to debut @ 25/1 which can be boosted.

Obvious issue with the bet is the lack of cash out.

I'm going to make sure he's declared first though.

Blimey, he wasn’t even mentioned until the weekend, still hasn’t run and is now a handicap plot :biggrin-new:

To be fair it’s not a typical starting point for Gordon so who knows.

I'm surprised that this horse is still 33/1 when the Supreme looks like his destination. When you take into the fact that connections of Mullins and Rich Ricci won this race with Champayne Fever, Vautour, Douvan and Min (2nd) and with Rich Ricci saying that he looks a very exciting prospect, 33/1 looks a good e/w bet to me.

I'm happy to have Jonbon and Hubrisko both at 33/1 in my book and can see these two right at the top of the market come March. Just holding out to see where Sir Gerhard and Kilcruit go before my last bet in this race.

It's just a default setting when I see Gordon is the trainer :highly_amused::highly_amused:

We usually know when Gordon has a real good one though as we either hear about it real early or the money comes, albeit the Triumph market is not even close to being formed yet. Everything else is just a plot job ;)

Both Quilixios and Zanahyir started their campaigns just two weeks later last season so it wouldn't be a massive surprise to see the Elliott top juveniles out early. Whether Iberique Du Seuil is one of them is unknown, but it wouldn't be putting me off!

Last year we had the early Betfair stable tour to provide some snippets but that obviously won’t be happening this year. So the channels for Elliott talking horses are reduced and we may have less insight into his string until after they run.
 
Any juveniles that Gordon gets out before the end of October should be watched closely in my opinion.

Declared for the 3yo maiden hurdle at Gowran on Saturday. Jack Kennedy on board.

maybe didn't fancy giving Willie's half a stone today , ground is good to yielding so that should be ok , and 1mm overnight rain
 
dunno mate , good to yielding, and 1mm of rain , reason given was one word , GOING , you would hope a horse could perform on softer side of good
 
Now I know he didn't beat much and he probably wont be contesting the major honors in any race at Cheltenham but that was one mighty performance by Nickle Back at Fontwell in a novice hurdle. Pulled like a train the whole way and was 20 lengths clear for most of the race. Won on the bridle by like 30 plus lengths after pulling that hard and with it chucking it down so surely the ground would be quick soft.

Came second on hurdle debut to Cadzand in March by a length, though was receiving 12 pounds

First Nh race I've dug into on the clock since spring as it looked so easy. Even taking into account the deteriorating conditions and the first circuit being 30l quicker for the free running Novice (hcap race had a clear lack of pace with hold up types) his last circuit and finishing effort(2 out), (bridle and appear to ease despite keen as you say) still would of got on top of the hcapers on show. Be very interesting to see how the hcaper rates him now they are "incorporating" more modern methods so they say, yet also don't want to be seen to be hammering easy novice winners :indecisiveness:. You wouldn't back against him if he turned up vs those hcapers next week if they opened up with 130< imo.

Well Arctic Warrior was very disappointing. Very keen and didn't jump well at all
