2017 Cheltenham JLT

That's the ticket. In Mullins bingo that is about as good as we canb hope for. I backed SDS I think too, against Peddlers Cross wasn't it? Went off 2nd fav? - I know I could just look this up in a matter of seconds but hoping my memroy is spot on... if not I'll come back and edit the post. I just remember backing SDS at 4/1 and think PEddlers Cross bombed out.

Don't remember Marito, I backed Dynaste and Aupcharlie that year.

2014 I was on Felix Yonger not Djakadam! (And Wonderful Charm), 2015 Vautour brought in my biggest ever return (treble from Xmas with UDS Arkle and Faugheen CH) and last year as mentioned earlier, was on KV at 12's but ended up with BH anyway....

One of my fav races come to think of it :encouragement:

What is everyone's thoughts on Blue Et Rouge's target and his suspect jumping on big occasions? He looks well overpriced in all possible races if he sorts his jumping out?

WM quoted he jumps sounds at home and he clearly has a serious engine. I could be tempted to back him on the day with a different pilot!

He's a horse I really like and followed him in his novice hurdle campaign. The engine is definitely there and I'm not too worried about his jumping. I'd love him to show up in the 4 miler.

I think it looks the most likely target but my record of predicting where WPM send his horses is a bit iffy to say the least.

What do people make of Charbel for this? Available at 33-1 first race over fences he beat both top notch and Le prezien who are both now best priced 20-1 then got closer than anything over fences against Altior (still got stuffed though) they mentioned afterwards trying him over further and you'd think they'd want to avoid Altior again and I just think he may be overpriced at 33s

Definitely agree. Very good poster on here but him up, not sure if the read-up is still available but someone will know...

I fancied him (Charbel) as an outside eachway play for the Arkle so wouldn't put you off a bet at 33's. Like you say he ran a cracking race against Altior and a better jump at the last would have meant he finished closer to the winner than he did (for all Altior was still only in second gear)

He beat Le Prezien and Top Notch on his chase debut. Also showed smart form in his hurdles season - 5th in the Supreme, 2.5L behind Yanworth at Ascot and beat Brain power by 11L's too.

Not a race I like to get stuck into too early and I think it will have a fair bit of depth to it but he's a horse I certainly like :encouragement:

Yorkhill cantered all over them there

he travelled well but he will need to jump FAR better than that at Cheltenham. I'd like to see him run again before Cheltenham for more jumping experience. to be honest I was disappointed by that

The jumping is worrying. Better left than right but still losing ground.
As one of my potential biggest winners I'm a bit underwhelmed. I hope Ruby had A LOT left... another run maybe?

When I do a few more folds and trebles etc. I wont be adding Yorkhill to many more I was disappointed with that every time I watched Ruby riding this season he seems to be making mistakes.

the jumping left didn't even overly bother me. it was getting quite a few fences wrong. hit a few, brushed through a few. I defo want to see him get a bit more experience.

I don't think another round of jumping will help straighten him out. Hangs and jumps to the left since Aintree last season. One to take on for me.

Unfortunately, I agree with that. The bigger prices I have don't seem as valuable as they did!

However, Buveur D'air who is next in the betting hasn't been that impressive over a fence either yet?

The jumping was pretty unimpressive. I know he didn't beat much but making as many mistakes as he did and still winning comfortably on the bridle is a small positive to take.

I'm not sure how comfortably he did win on the bridle. Ruby has a knack of not giving anything away. Hopefully Ruby gets interviewed soon and is bullish

Concerning run that, well jumping. The horse just looks awkward at a lot of his fences. I'd certainly like to see another run before the festival in the hope it may improve his jumping slightly but I do echo the concerns experience may not solve this.

No doubt they's plenty of talent there and i'm sure he must be showing more at home, it seemed from the outside a tough decision to either stay over hurdles or go chasing. Surely he must have been jumping much better otherwise if his jumping had been like his first 2 runs I can't imagine they'd have gone chasing with the horse?! I know it's one thing jumping on the gallops and another in a race though.

No doubt he'll be tanking along and canter through the JLT but you have to worry he'll be losing lengths at every other jump at this stage. The race is certainly far from what the market perceives (7/4 vs 6's bar)

Mullins was saying today if ever there was a track and trip to suit the horse this would be it, needed to show more there for me :(

As much as im defending him, 11/8 absolutely stinks
