Ultima Business Solutions Handicap Chase 2018

Talked myself into taking Cogry @ 25s. Hate watching him; makes it look like such hard work but he certainly ticks many boxes
 
Going with Beware The Bear and Ramses De Teillee (I have backed Singlefarmpayment steadily AP). Happy heavy ground will present no issues and despite being tempted with Yala Enki and Vintage Clouds, this surely comes too soon for YE and Vintage Clouds spends his life in 2nd, but will love the ground.
 
I’ve topped up on Singlefarmpayment. Just really like his claims and think this is an easier race to win than last year. Will like the ground and will be right there surely barring a fall
 
Any SFP backers worried about the form of Tom George?

I am now... he’s got a smallish stable and not many of those have gone off short prices

Too tired for debate anymore. We shall know by 3pm tomorrow.. if he doesn’t go close then it’s fair to suspect something might be amiss. Almost won it last year, not gone up much, and this to me a more winnable race

I mentioned this a couple of weeks ago folski, when Wild West Wind went out like a light after coming to win his race. The stable seemed to lose momentum early in the new year and it's difficult to back anything with huge confidence, hopefully this is the week they get their mojo back

Agreed. He ticks all the boxes. He loves Cheltenham and is only 3lb higher than last year where he came second by a nostril hair.

He is the one to beat for me and I've lumped om him.

He didn't seem to enjoy it too much last time when he was backed from something like 25/1-15/2. The vast majority of his form is on much better ground as well.

I don't think he will get a better chance than last year.
 
I think SFP will love the ground. His run back in Jan ‘16 at cheltenham on heavy ground oozed class and he’s still only 8. Expecting a top performance

Yes, me too and as you rightly say this year's race looks slightly easier than last time.

To be fair he was off 125 that day.
 
i've finally come round to backing something in this.

Minella Daddy 18/1.

The horse was 2nd in a listed handicap on soft ground over 3m at Ascot off 142, was subsequently raised to 145 he runs tomorrow off 139.

After that 2nd he was tried in G1 company (Kauto Star Novices Chase) and I can only assume the horse got injured as he was pulled up and didn't run for over a year or maybe it was a case of he tried to go with Might Bite around Kempton.

The horse came back in Jan and ran very well to 3 out in a good handicap chase, he got very tired in straight which is understandable and stopped to a near walk on way home. The horse came on some amount for the race and ran very well last time, he surely has more improvement in him for that race.

A Flemenisfirth out of an Old Vic mare ground and stamina should be no problem, only 3 horses carrying less weight.
 
Very surprised with the lack of love for Ramses De Teilles on here. I would think the case for him is quite obvious, anybody have any specific reasons to go against him?

Surely RDT is a better bet than Gold Present at 11/1 and 12/1 respectively?

Yes this is definitely my reservation - or more specifically, lack of experience in races of this nature. I see the appeal at 20s/25s, but 12/1 is not for me.
 
Market signals very ominous for Gold Present. Sadly, I think it is pretty short odds on him being pulled up today.
 
Shock horror favourite wins handicap. Quite straightforward bar the run in.
 
Cracking ride from Lizzie Kelly. Must admit I got that wrong with regards to Coo Star Sivola, but managed to bag a place with Beware The Bear @ 20/1 which was nice :)
