Boylesports

TW - Ted Walsh
RP - Robbie Power
JW - Johnny Ward
LB - Leon Blanche

TW - Ruby been riding out at mine, and is good to go.
RP - If you start looking after yourself, you get hurt. Just riding for Jess next few days, see how it goes.
JW - Lots of A/P bets, and as long as Samcro & Laurina run in their races, I'll be ok.
LB - We'll go evens Laurina tonight for anyone that wants it.

For those who don't entertain Facebook you can get an hour on RTE2 FM.

Arkle

HC - Footpad drifting, but done nothing wrong?

TW - Footpad impressive, PM was first time, then a hiccup. Made 2 big mistakes, and still ran a cracker. Won't be much between them, but at 6/4 he's backable. PM always had FP measure over hurdles.

RP - Thinks PM will get a lot closer, and might even beat him. PM with HDB who is the right man. Thinks proper gallop with SC in there, who he thinks will set the race up for PM. Agrees with Ted about PM having FP measure over hurdles.

JW - Agrees with Ted that PM was e/w value in the race. FP was drifter, and PM not had great season, awful mistake lto. Thinks FP with Ruby on will have race to suit him, sit in behind. Cruising speed & jumping so good. PM had him behind over hurdles, but FP jumps better.

TW - Between the front 2, and SC be lapped in a CH.

LB - Imagine PM come on a lot from the last day, and to get back into it after the 2 mistakes. Footpad will be fave, so Boyles offer if you're 2nd or 3rd to SP favourite is good. Can't see PM out of first 3. Thinks it's between the 2 irish horses.

HC - Talking about Brain Power, Nicky says if he switches off.... asks RP.

RP - He can say what he wants, it has no chance.

Champion Hurdle

HC - Nicky says hasn't been tested, but done everything right. People willing to forgive Faugheen, and give one more chance.

JW - Can't back Faugheen, fairly good vibes in yard about Douvan, but not Faugheen. Surprised if he finishes in first 3. Been working since last summer, because they thought he was ok. Shame he's only won one CH. Last day prob 20lbs below best. Comes alive at Cheltenham they say, and his best run was at Leopardstown.

Would back Melon, if anything. Very good run behind MTOY considering how keen he was. Buveur D'Air is a certainty. Can't see him beaten.

HC - Yorkhill interesting here, Ted?

TW - They're shooting arrows into the sky. Looked like a horse with no pace, no interest. He's a right monkey, and atm in a bad place. BD stonewall, and only horse if he was at his best could beat BD is Faugheen. He'd still beat Yorkhill at his best.

LB - Offers 4/6 BD tonight

HC - Saying 4/6 not enhanced!!

TW - Asks for a price MTOY to be placed.

HC - Is BD a real cert, beat nothing this year?

RP - I agree, bad race last year, beat nothing this year. If your horse is 2nd/3rd to sp fave like Leon says. Thinks back Faugheen. No consideration to run here for Supasundae unless ground was awful. Stayers always target. If Faugheen 80% horse he was, he'd beat BD. Not convinced by him. Bigger priced favourites later in week, like UDS, that he likes.

All agree Ruby rides Faugheen.

RP - Can't have Melon at all. Wicklow Brave value bet for me.

LB - If anyone can get Faugheen back it's Willie

QMCC

HC - Altior only one run this season. Runs through the entries. Who would you ride, Robbie?

RP - Altior certainty, beat Politologue first time out easily. Much better value than BD. Impressed by Min last time out, and will get a good gallop with Special Tiara. Altior in a diff league, Min the danger. If Ruby decides to ride Douvan, you'd have to take note.

TW - Altior is an exceptional horse. As much as I'd like to see an Irish horse win. No flaws, other than he's 4/6. I'd rather 4/6 him, than 4/9 BD. Not all faves are going to win. Don't ask me which one gets beat, but can't all win, we know that. Min run a big race, Douvan was a superstar, 'was'.

JW - Shame Douvan going in under a cloud. Don't get many great races. Altior & Douvan 2 of best horses I have seen. Says on a preview with one of Mullins, and they raving about Douvan. Altior wasn't impressive in Arkle. Douvan would beat Altior at best. Willie won't go there chancing him. 7/2 Douvan, or 4/6 Altior, I'd back Douvan. Min was fave to beat Altior, and Min made mistake. Douvan the Value, thinks Ruby rides.

LB - Won twice in 2 visits. Agrees with JW that Charbel had him under pressure. Got Faugheen back after a long layoff, and he was electric. Thinks Douvan turns up fresh and puts it right up to Altior. Pumps the Boyles offer again.

JW - If this race was 12 months ago, he'd be massive odds on. Taking odds on WM getting horse there well.

LB - Go 5/4 Altior, (Laughs when they ask for boost Douvan) He's just fine at 7/2.

RP - If Douvan runs, thinks Min will run in Ryanair.

JW - Doesn't think they have enough faith in Douvan to not run Min.

RP - If he's in the race, they'll be happy enough with him.

Ryanair

Before this, Ted shouts out about Cause of Causes a winner on 2nd day.

HC - Everyone wants to see UDS win

JW - Against UDS, thinks he's much better on softish ground, and prob be nearer GtS. Don't know what's going to beat him though. Would run BDD if it was up to him. Thinks last year was crap race. UDS on soft/heavy over 2m is as good as you'll see.

TW - If ground was soft/heavy his, vulnerable on good ground. Wait for weather, if it's bad ground suits him, and if you don't want to back him, it's WP. Agrees with Johnny he didn't beat a lot last two races, and had to win those.

LB - Take 7/2 WP, if he turns up, he's shorter. VG performance last time out. English will get behind him. Don't know how JW can crab a horse like UDS. Pulled very hard, and still won last year. No grade 1 is easy, ask RP.

JW - Beat a bad field last year, and don't think anyone should laugh at Cue Card. Has an e/w chance, no depth at all. If he gets into a rhythm, wouldn't rule him out.

TW - UDS not underrated, but if you don't win the CC or GC as a chaser, you're not a star. CC for a 2miler, or GC for a stayer. Got beat by Sprinter in the CC. I'd love a horse to win the Ryanair, but it's not like others.

RP - UDS is a certainty. To pull as hard as he did for first 6/7f and still get up the hill was impressive. Let him go this year, and he'll just do his stuff. Over 2 1/2mile he'd be vulnerable if heavy, but not on good.

HC - How is Sizing John atm?

RP - He has his swagger back. Working well. Everything gone smoothly, was just back too soon last time out. VG 1st time out, in heavy ground, and harder race than we thought. Gave no sign he had that hard race, until we went back. Jessie made decision to go straight to GC, and 99.9% of time she's right. Couple bits of work and a school to go, but couldn't be happier. When he's shaking his head coming back in, you know he's in good form, and he is all last week.

Stayers Hurdle

LB - We'll go 9/2 Supasundae

TW - All the way to 9/2 from 4/1

All laughing

LB - Very competitive race, lists all horses at top of market. L'Ami Serge overpriced, with some good form, and at 12/1 good e/w. If it's Gts in chelts, Supasundae takes all beating.

HC - Talks about race with Apples Jade, and Faugheen

TW - Supasundae good horse, and if he beats Sam Spinner he wins. Wait until you see the ground. Puppy says better on good ground.

JW - Thinks Supasundae one of most ground reliant horses, and wouldn't fancy him on soft. If it's good, will be a good bet, thinks he gets 3m fine. Couldn't have Yanworth, but they're right to go back over hurdles. Penhill not run, asking a lot. Ted sweet on Sam Spinner, thinks he is type of horse you want for this race.

RP - Seems to be getting better with age. Gradually got better through the year, and ran well at Cheltenham and same this year. Should have beaten AJ last time he thinks. 2m was a prep race to sharpen him up, couldn't believe how well he travelled on jump, and quickened with Faugheen. Unbelievable how a horse can change in a year. If he gets his ground it will be great for him.

HC - Would you rather see horse go for best race, or one you can win.

TW - Race you can win. It's a grade 1, winner at cheltenham. Why would you take those on, when you can run in mares?

RP - Only way you get more mares running is put a cap on the mares of 155 or something.

TW - Or get rid of it, as purists we want to see the best.

JW - Mares hurdle not much of a race, if you took AJ out.

HC - Wonder about Quevega

TW - If you leave the option there, they'll take it.

JW - Don't disagree with Giggs, but the race shouldn't be there.
