A little bit of time today to have a nose around the markets and come up with the following:
Old Park Star (Arkle) - Nicky's conversion rate since the turn of the Millennium from Supreme winners to Arkle winners is 100% (Shishkin & Altior) when they've gone chasing, and his general win rate in the Arkle when he's got a good one is incredible. Could argue Act Of Innocence could also end up in the race and then a case of which one takes to fences more, but I suspect OPS is much the better of the pair.
Idaho Sun (Champion Hurdle) - Already mentioned and stuck Narciso Has in a Yankee, so won't bore everyone with him again, but Idaho Sun should not be forgotten about having taken care of Mydaddypaddy at Aintree before the Cheltenham Festival. Unfortunately he was then ruled out for the season, but I don't think there were any excuses that day, despite some thinking the hurdles being taken out were the reason, I think that was a few people grasping there. 33/1 as opposed to the 14's for Mydaddypaddy, despite the form line from Aintree, made little sense to me, and he could be a dark horse for the Champion Hurdle, IMO.
He's On Fire (Arkle/BANC) - As others have said really, he probably deserves an entry in a Yankee. My only issue would be deciding which race for. Not short of speed it would seem, but at the same time, looks as though he could travel for days.
Kargese (Champion Chase) - Fortuitous winner of the Arkle, maybe, but she's solid enough. 2-1-1 Cheltenham Festival form. More reliable than Kopek. 10/1 is a solid E/W price.
Teahupoo (Stayers) - 20/1 looks a big E/W price. He had excuses in March, IMO, firstly the ground went against him, being as 'Good' as it was, was never ideal. He was then short of room and blocked off twice during the run in, not that I think he would have won the race, but potentially could have nicked a place. Jack gave up the final half furlong. With conditions hopefully not as dry next season, and with the 'veterans' having a great run of victories in the race, it would be foolhardy to think Teahupoo is now done with this race.
