June ‘26 Yankee courtesy @knockando

Along with Kabral, Dan also gave Soldier Reeves as one of 3 to follow next season and he'll go down the Stayers route so he could be one to consider. Bossman Jack was the 3rd horse. No target mentioned.

Instagram was uploaded just 2 weeks ago so up to date.

….i’m keen on Zeus Power for Stayers but Soldier Reeves finished the Turners in similar style, flying up the hill and the two were very close at the end.

Dan Skelton on MYDADDYPADDY:“We’ll come back for next year’s Arkle.“I know the winner will be favourite for the Arkle, but we’ll have a lot to say about that.“Ours will have an extra year of improvement; I think he’ll make an outstanding chaser.”

That was said some time on Supreme day - from Ash Symonds on X
I'm also pretty certain they did back track after the above. With Kabral going for the Arkle I don't see them throwing Mydaddypaddy at it as well next year. I thought Kabral may have been their CH horse but looks like the two could switcheroo.

Yeah they definitely said hurdles afterwards hence me thinking they popped him over few fences and didnt impress

Found this......

“I did say Arkle… but there’s no point in having a mind unless you change it now and again.”

Dan Skelton says MYDADDYPADDY could stay over hurdles next season, rather than go chasing — with the Champion Hurdle in mind

Yep. Just watched race back. SR was left last at standing start. Came from an impossible position. 33's General (40/1 Unibet). Dan does potentially have TNL for the Stayers as well of course.

…..doesn’t look like @knockando has posted since volunteering at the beginning of May, hopefully all is well and he comes in here soon to give us a steer
Oi oi. Apologies - I’m currently lapping up some rays in Spain.

I captained one in a similar summer month last year and went for a sweet blend of a little risk mixed in with some more nailed on targets. In that, the riskier ones actually did the best (Gaelic GC and Mydaddy supreme, with one non runner and one death (Kalif) but I’ll just go down the same strategy.

Essentially - as has already started, if everyone lashes in suggestions, I’ll make a decision based on numbers and strength of arguments.

In a nutshell - I’ll make it up and hope for the best but no theme or real strategy with targeted races.

All the best.

….in respect of the ‘less risk’ selection(s), I’ll throw in steer from @Quevega in March;

Old park star 9-2
Lossie 3-1
Kargese 10-1
Gaelic warrior 4-1

‘Like the idea some might of perming them and we shouldn’t be afraid of keeping some of these in future yankees
Leaving solid ones in until they’re not anymore

Next months could chuck in Kopek in place of Kargese for example.
Don’t be put off if Lossie or Gaelic get beat and drift a bit
as the months pass. Just take the bigger prices and hope they stay sound. Both these look light on potential rivals right now.

The banc looked like it was for the speed horses and not gold cup types this year. And the novice hurdle division looks short of a star aside from old park.
He’d have won easier bar the mistake at the last I reckon‘

I would be a little wary of Skelton's for Cheltenham this season. He has stated he is going for Pipe's record of wins in a season which could well see less handicap 'good things' plotted up as well as targeting easier graded races through the season. Therefore I think we could see less of his peaking at the Festival.

I think it could be worth including Kabral du mathan in the Arkle 12/1 as a solid alternative to the fav. Target looks pretty much nailed on now there’s no middle distance novice chase to worry about. The horse has a high cruising speed and the extra stamina is always a bonus in the Arkle.

Understand that but I think he's getting now an arsenal of horses where he could do both. Anyway, we're not expecting a Mullins style Cheltenham onslaught. We just need to have his 2/3 Festival winds across the Yankees!!
