Whats your best guess the UK handicapper does to that mark ?
I think he will get a couple, his first hurdles race back has had subsequent winners in be 2nd and 3rd but getting stuffed in the ICHnwas certainly a good call.

In my mind big hikes are more likely for unexposed horses than exposed

….if we’re going down the H’Cap route, I’ll give a mention to Act of Authority.
2nd in last years Martin Pipe off 134, Olly Murphy revealed in his early stable tours;

SL
“He ran a cracker in the Martin Pipe and he might well be a horse for the Pertemps. He is a good three mile handicap hurdler. He is a horse with a lot of ability. We might aim him at what was the old fixed brush hurdle race at Haydock Park. He hated it around Chepstow first time out last year. I’m not sure if it was a bit of a culture shock running in a big handicap around there in his first run of the season. He had some good runs after that though."

RP;
‘He was second in the Martin Pipe at Cheltenham and he's very unexposed at staying trips over hurdles. He could well make up into a nice Pertemps horse.’

Last run off 137, apprentice ridden all season. A best 20-1 Pertemps, 25-1 MP. I’ll watch the entries and weights with interest.

He's a full brother to last years Pertemps 4th, Feet Of A Dancer.

I like him.

I've backed him (y)

Won't be huge value but Madara in the Plate has been a plot for a while. no great secret there, owners have backed him 33/1 and Plate is where he goes.
With Skelton gunning for the trainers championship you can be sure all his horses will be running to the line for prize money so he looks a solid each way play, there's some 15/2 NRNB out there, though whether that's a better play now than during race week is debatable....

…..hope @Quevega doesn’t mind, but throwing in another Pertemps candidate into the mix after he highlighted it a few months ago.

Letos is trained and ridden by a father/son combination very keen on having a Festival winner together. In Nov Letos won a listed H’cap hurdle at Naas (Staffordshire Knot behind) before qualifying at Carlisle so they know his UK mark. Q was concerned he might blow that mark with another run but in Jan he finished 10th of 10, tailed off in a G1 at Naas.

25-1 NRNB available, he’s also 40-1 NRNB Coral Cup so one to note when next weeks entries and then weights come out.

Someone asked Mullins about him on Twitter a few days ago and was told everything going swimmingly at the moment

That's good as he ran that badly in the Lawlors I feared something might have gone amiss.
Sounds like they'll be entering him then 👍

…..indication is Act of Authority going MP.

Sixmilebridge will almost certainly be one of my picks should he go JR.....

"I was surprised and delighted he's only gone up a pound considering the bare form, but we'll take that and maybe the handicap route is the one we go down," said O'Brien.

"I'm sitting on the fence at the moment, but it's not like we'll even be lugging top weight around if we do go for the Jack Richards."

Posted in another thread but Danny confirmed that he'll be going Pertemps in an RP article the other day

….and somebody else has said Mullins has confirmed he’s Pertemps bound so he’s one for @Lobos to consider, especially if that 25-1 NRNB is still available with 365.

….we know 2 of your likely selections, so keep an eye on;

Sixmilebridge (JR)
Supremely West (Pertemps)

(y)
Add Wade Out to those 2 as well....

…..the 3 highlighted by @Lobos have been entered;

Wade Out; NHC, 9-1 in a place but general 8-1. Also has a BANC entry.
Supremely West; Pertemps only entry 8-1 available.
Sixmilebridge; JR, 12-1 available, also entered Ark & BANC.

Seems like at least another spot up for grabs if folk are strong on anything. Is @Lobos planning to hit the green button after weights are published next week?

IMO the Handicapper has got it horribly wrong with Sixmilebridge in that he should be at least 5lbs higher , probably more. You cannot knock his form. He's unbeaten over fences, a super jumper, very uncomplicated, won at Cheltenham and he wouldn't be out of place in both the Arkle and BANC but the trainer will surely not give up the opportunity of the JR race which the handicapper has gifted him and the mid trip suits him so well.

I do like the other two as both of them have had the same target all season and, whilst obvious to all watching, their handicap marks have been cleverly kept down by their respective jockeys and the Handicapper has even dropped them both a pound or two for their efforts. Supremely West's run behind Ma Shantou in the Qualifier at Cheltenham where he was buried at the back and played late for 3rd looks very good now and he somehow sits 2lb lower now.

Wade Out's win over Wendigo at Worcester over an inadequate trip reads very well and his win at Cheltenham under an inspired Bowen ride just had NHC written all over it. The extra 5f will surely eek out further improvement. Sean could do with a bit of help as he does hit flat spots and word is Olly is going to put some sort of headgear on which can only be a positive.

Those 3 are certainly at the top of my list.

Would like people's thoughts on the above and the 4th spot and whether it's worth waiting for weights to be released or go in now ?

Will Bowen definitely ride Wade Out ?
And would that make any difference ?
He'll be at the top of the weights so do you not think that there may be others lurking below him that have also been laid out for this race ?

Yes, I'd be stunned if he got off him. They are made for each other.
There will be but the trip and headgear will bring out more and he's had the perfect preparation in that he's got the experience in early and they have been able to freshen him up and come into the race off a lovely break.
