Supreme Novices 2017

Kev :D

I like Moon Racer but now with those who think they will be tempted by the Champion Hurdle.

this would have been a nice #requestabet ...Tom Scudamore to ride a Champion Hurdle - Gold Cup double in 2017 on two novices.

He HAS to go champion doesn't he. Why enter him if you weren't going to run with Annie and Faugheen ... unless the plan was to pick up 2nd when they scared off half the field?

Harder to place in this without the big guns than it is without them? (Trying to think outside the box ) ... you should never be scared of one horse they say ... so maybe they were hoping to pick up the pieces in a small field?

Brain Power looks very appealing at a bigger price

Nico de Boinville when asked for a horse at the festival to keep an eye on:

I rode a nice horse the other day called Lough Derg Spirit up at Musselbrough in the Supreme Trial

I think he’s a nice each way price. I quite like him. He’s definitely going the right way

*me clutching at straws...*

Clutching or not, that's really good to hear. Was one of my very first AP bets and also have him for the Arkle 2018 at 33/1.

Any positive report welcome :encouragement:

Just to clarify that was me clutching at straws, not saying Nico was - I love the horse. Didn't quite go as far as a 2018 Arkle bet on him like you CCM but I still hold hope he can compete at the Spring Festivals, glad to see you hold you horse in high regard too. Encouraging that he may at least race in this :encouragement:

Latest Henderson blog touches on Jenkins:

I have to admit we are struggling with Jenkins. He is in work, yes, but it’s not work that is enough at this stage. He’ll gallop tomorrow and I’ll do as much as I dare to do but whether he’s going to make Cheltenham I have no idea as we are fighting against time. He’s fine and looks fantastic and is moving well – he’s got no injuries, but it’s just a bit of a struggle.

Haha Jono. Yeah realised it was you and not Nico!

The Jenkins comments don't make sense to me? Is he saying that:
Everything looks right physcailly and he looks fantastic as a racehorse but he keeps getting beaten in his work?

I'll be pleased with LDS turning up! Nico clutching at straws for a ride, and having won it last year, I am sure he'll be keen to get his blood pumping.... He has a VERY big job on 40 minutes after... I think LDS WILL run actually, just for that reason. HE'll be out in front on LDS getting a feel for the ground and conditions :encouragement:

I was pretty keen on L.D.S , early doors , but had him in the neptune hdl. Der !.

Certainly one of the best jumpers I've seen this season in the Novice division. Could stand him in good stead in this race. Agree with Kev, could see him lead and put that to good use.

Melon might shorten again today if Broken Soul wins the first well at Navan :p

It'll be 5s or bigger on the day - every bookie worth their salt will want to stand a once raced maiden winner!

Wishful thinking.... They might cut him today and be generous in offering the odds he is today, 7/2? :grumpy:

Melon should be 20/1 still haha

Melon form taking a knock there! Broken Soul who he beat finishes 3rd in the opener at Navan

Really poor from bookmakers,no change in betting
I think they might of been hoping broken soul won
No stand out in this race
A few quid EW on anything and watch

We have different approaches

Yours may be more profitable and more enjoyable though :highly_amused:

I think I posted a while back that I fancied Charli Parcs and Neon Wolf if either turned up and nothing has changed since then. I do like Moon Racer, I think Ballyandy would be a very interesting runner and BOE did nothing wrong. A Mullins' 2nd string placing wouldn't shock me at all. I have the fancy prices on Melon (125/1 double with Altior) so as stupid as his price is, I'd be on cloud 9 if he won!

Q. Your best chance of winning this year?

DP. I'd have to say Moon Racer in the Supreme. Hopefully he can get a winner on the board for us early doors.

Its not like DP has any other decent chances/options this year lol.

Have they confirmed Moon Racer goes to the Supreme then ? Looking at betfair it seems to be the case but hadnt seen anything.
