Supreme Novices 2017

That quote is from the OC website... he could easily have just said "Moon Racer. Hopefully he can get a winner on the board for us early doors"

Wasn't a dig at you Kev but DP instead. :)

Have they confirmed Moon Racer goes to the Supreme then ? Looking at betfair it seems to be the case but hadnt seen anything.

I don't think so OV, he is also blue for CH - its probably more to the fact that he will make it to the fest.

:highly_amused: I know.

How many runners do you think Mullins will send? Melon and BoE look obvious, sure. Crack Mome? Cilaos Emery? Saturnas? All different owners and he doesn't mind running more than one/two if they're different ownership?

A Clue ?

"I was very happy with Bunk Off Early. He was very keen in the early part of the race and probably did a bit too much for the two-and-a-quarter miles on slower ground," Townend said in his Racing FX blog.

"I think he'll appreciate better ground in Cheltenham and a proper gallop over two miles in the Supreme Novices'.
"I definitely wouldn't mind if Ruby chose Melon and I got the leg up on Bunk Off Early."

Wasn't as eye catching a performance because he pulled hard and did a lot wrong but Beyond Conceit showed some engine to out battle Topofthegame and De Dollar Man over 2m3f Saturday.

Hendo favouring the Supreme with him and similar story to BOE...stronger pace, faster race could really bring him on. Think he's a nice e/w shot at 25/1

Agree mayo, looks clear cut...but I wouldn't know historically how exacting statements like this were in the grand scheme of things.
Makes the most sense at this stage though :)

Agree Lessey ... The market was behind Topofthegame too and despite being a drifter, doing a lot wrong, as you say...he got the job done. Big old price for last years winning connections (NdB/Hendo)? Might not be good for LDS backers :p

Thanks Kev...so if Hendo has CP and BC for Supreme, suggests to me Consul de Thaix almost definitely goes County or Coral...lump on :encouragement:

I'm another keen on BC for this like others have said did everything wrong yet still won lto. Surely the strong pace of the supreme will suit him down to the ground.

I thought these would be closer to each other in the betting. Ruby picked Saturnas that race and said he didn't think Bacardys would have the speed so it looks like a race that's favoured stamina and went against BOE's pace, even though he was staying on well at the end. That ticks the box to hope he'd be fine with a quickly run supreme and if I hadn't backed moon racer already, I'd be all over BOE. Can easily see Ruby onboard.

Senewalk update:

Elsewhere all of our novices are fine and will keep their entries at the next forfeit stage. That includes the long-forgotten Senewalk, who is back in training after getting his wind done. He will be a much better horse on better ground and we still retain loads of faith in him, but the reality is he is a maiden over hurdles, has only had the one run, and will probably not make Cheltenham at this stage.

Thanks for that update Rowebot, had a feeling as much but nice to actual hear some word about it.

Nooooooooooooooooooooo. Jinky Jenkooooo

Hendo - Lough Derg Spirit is "pretty smart" but could be more of an Aintree horse

Senewalk still entered ...

Think that's them all? Might tie in with Beyond Conceit for stable jockey NdB .... NdB seemed quite keen on having a run BUT now he has another viable option?

I just read that Charli Parcs will receive 8lbs from its elders if he runs in this race. They surely have to go there and has to put off the likes of MR.

Rumours have it that MELON is now out of the Festival. Drifted on the exchanges.
