Royal Ascot

Losing day for me after two good first days. Main hopes from what I've already posted for tomorrow are Candleford and Ladies Church. Nice to see they have been backed.

As for Saturday:

15.05 - Dubai Legend
16.20 - Home Affaires(price too short now but I have him as last leg of a treble)
17.00 - Blackrod / Rohaan / Summerghand / Commanche Falls
 
OK, I'll disclose I was on the fav (who would've finished 4th without interference) but its a scandal The Ridler kept the first race.

Reminds me of Kevin Blake's article called something like "does a jockey have to die before they change the interference rule?". Forget the result, that was just horrible riding, very lucky someone wasn't seriously hurt. He did nothing, absolutely nothing to correct it

Is there an Ascot equivalent of this forum absolutely having it off like we do Cheltenham? Always find this meeting absolute nails and delighted I finally stuck to my guns and went fun small stakes only

High draws just won the 5:00

Doesn't seem to matter where the draw is, it's where the quality pace is to drag horses into the race

Inspiral was sensational, performance of the week imo

I think he is an extremely talented horse who has been far too keen and running his races the wrong way round. they are reporting the gelding operation has calmed him down I think he takes an awful lot of beating.

Despite behaving like a lunatic as a 2yo (and on reappearance this year and won anyway) he finished 2nd in the lagadere

He beat derby 2nd hoo yah mal

Didn't get beat far by lusail on debut

And beat ehraz

so if he has now calmed down and starts racing properly his rating of 112 will only go up and he wins this

Also really like Falcon Eight in the 18:10 if trueshan doesnt run

His form figures over shorter

He did beat nature strip over 5f but nature strip badly missed the break and only got beat on the head Bob. Nature Strip is much the better of the two (though home affairs is younger and could be improving)

I also think the British horses at 6f are a good 4 or 5 lbs better than the 5f horses who are all group 3 and listed horses really

He may well win but I really don’t think he’s a 2/1 shot in this field

He only has 2lb on creative force and 3lb on a case of you on ratings

And there’s gonna be a big stiff finish at the end of his race today and the likes of creative force, sacred, a case of you and minzaal will be flying home

Will he hold on? Maybe
Would I take the 2/1? Not a chance
 
The German horse is quite interesting in that Jersey. The German 2000 guineas run behind Maljoom is potentially a top piece of form, judging on how that one looked in the St James Palace earlier in the week.

Admittedly the rest of his form is hard to weigh up or looks pretty average but there's excuses of ground and trip possibly.

I probably won't be having a bet today to be honest but that German 2000 Guineas run caught my eye. They were well clear of the third and the drop back in trip certainly didn't look like it'd be a negative. Although maybe he just got the run of the race there and the rest are shite other than the winner?

Yeah I think too much gets made of the draw at Ascot when it's quick ground, when it's deep you want to be stands side but for me it's the break that's more important.
That final race last night five of the first six home were drawn 20 or higher...
