MARTIN PIPE Conditionals Handicap Hurdle

Just had a look on odds checker for the race, bookies must have had their fingers burnt on this a lot in the past, my terrible counting makes it 70 horses at 20/1 or under

Can't see Goven in the Pipe NRNB with 365- your bets resulted in him being removed?!

Was talking about Hiaou

I was replying to ToniC saying I am a big fan of Goven already, therefore adding Hiaou.

Sorry, it wasn't the clearest!

Does anyone think Burning Victory might be aimed here?

+ OR of 143
+ Last four winners all 142 or 143 rated.
+ Same connections as GDC (who was off 142)
+ New course, just 9 hurdles to jump and more to her liking than the Old Course (on which the Mares Hurdle is run).
+ Might have been put off the Stayers (also on the new course) by the 21l loss at Christmas to not only Klassical Dream, but also Flooring Porter.

Negative is I'm not sure her ability has really been hidden.

Doubt she would qualify: a 143 rating in Ireland would translate to higher than 145 in the UK and would put her over the limit for this race

Do you think so? Even with a best RPR of just 141?

After Hillcrest's performance yesterday, Does I Am Maximus off 134 not have to be aimed for this or even the county? His run in defeat against Hillcrest looks a big run now and was probably just outstayed. So the drop to 2m could also be fine but come on Nicky, you've got to aim him at one of these, he'd have a massive chance. Skybet have him at 10/1 nrnb for Martin Pipe currently.

Henderson has had a lot of sucess in the Coral Cup too, so you'd have to consider that and he doesn't look the normal 'staying' type that typically has done well in the Pipe.

Essentially though, he does look 'well handicapped' through Hillcrest regardless.

Coral Cup would be very much of interest too! Hopefully see him entered when the handicap entries are out.

….not sure if targets were mentioned after yesterdays win but it’ll be interesting if Good Risk at All has an entry for this. Run over inadequate trips, stepped up yesterday to good affect, perhaps this was the aim. Only priced up with a couple of firms.

Surely gonna get murdered by the handicapper for winning on the snaff yesterday

Not just Hillcrest yesterday but Get a Tonic too. It now seems highly likely the handicapper significantly undervalued this form at the time. I’m sure it hasn’t gone unnoticed by the handicapper....I’m not an expert on how likely it is that IAM will now have his mark increased standing in his stable???
