Are there any decent dummies guide type sites for this sort of thing? Nothing makes me switch off quicker than trying/quickly failing to get my head around finance outside the basics! :highly_amused:

R/UKPersonalFinance on Reddit is normally where I go for information, it's free and all sorts of q's answered.

There's a financial management flow chart (which I can't upload here due to file size) that is a good guide tool for general finances and goals.

I flick between it and r/UKInvesting usually as I'm new to investing from earlier this year. Like others have said, my aim is to retire as soon as I can, 38 now but you've got to have a dream lol

My only advise is: tell him everything you’ve wanted to say to him no matter how awkward that may seem or feel. I found it difficult, but the finality of things is rarely understood, so please tell him everything you’ve every wanted to say because you may not have another chance. As you’re doing, embellish every opportunity you have and cherish your moments with him, it will mean the world to both of you. I hope sunnier times are ahead but if they’re not enjoy every moment. To this day, I still go to pick up the phone to call my dad and the remember I can’t, so please enjoy every moment you have because they are special. I so wish you well,

On a lovely holiday with my girlfriend. Have to take a test to get back into to UK, it comes back as positive (I feel fine). I’m not just stranded in Madeira, feeling totally lost, stressed to f*ck!

Thanks SW. Madeira are pretty hot on it actually, free PCR tests before we fly back which is done by the hospitals with results coming within 12hours.

Ive been told the test is accurate and I’m not allowed to take another, public nor private :cower:

I’ve got my iPad and have decided to start Narcos :abnormal: hopefully time flies by!

Felt sorry for you til you said you hadn't watched Narcos before! It's mint, El Chapo isn't on the same level but is a perfectly watchable 8/10 job when youve finished too. Just make sure to have it as Spanish with English subtitles like Narcos as the English dubbing is laughable.

Got mine for ?48 (Dante). Shop around I'd suggest to anyone else. Rapid Antigen test to fly home was 'just' ?28 with Chronomics and is easy to do. Result email back in 2 mins.All a complete fucking con though !

Update….

So I was given a dodgy PCR and turns out I’m actually negative and there was no need to isolate for the 4 days I have already.

In talks at the moment with the insurance company about getting me home but they don’t seem to keen on paying out. Typical!

I’m so relieved though and I can’t wait to get out of this hellhole! :apple:
