Late surge for Melon being value.

I'll be interested to see if firms go silly with their E/W terms at the moment.

The Champion Hurdle on page 3 !! With the winner having her prep tomorrow? Surely not!

And for the stat boys.
Horses using this race as a prep run for the champion hurdle have a 100% record.

So a Champion Hurdle has been won by a horse having a prep after last weekend?

....but I thought Presenting Percy had no chance?

I don't think I understand these trends.

Kev I’m sure even the devils advocate recognised a difference in 2 mile hurdles to 3 mile chases

It worked for a 3 mile hurdler in 2017? We're getting closer?:devilish:

If Presenting Percy doesn't win, Iwon't blame him it on him running this weekend, if he does.

It's like horses that are having racecourse gallops... we give them a free pass? Is he MORE likely to win if he doesn't run? I just don't think historical reference is that important this season especially.

Barmey to assume that every Gold Cup horse has already done their last serious piece of work too?

I think that puts the Laurina/Stormy Ireland debate firmly to bed. In fact - it's popped it in a nice box with a lovely big feckin bow on it. Pissed in!

I’m still not convinced they will run her here but I really hope they do. She gave a few hurdles a bit too much air as usual but seen as Willie said this morning she’s been a bit off since her enforced vaccination it was a nice enough prep. Who wouldn’t want to see Laurina and Buever D’Air turn the last bend hard on the bridle in behind Apple’s Jade

I’m not sure it was a proper debate anyway.

Scooby seemed convinced but not sure anyone else would’ve had anything but Laurina as a better horse.

I'm not even sure Scooby was convinced, he was basing on all known form and he was right. The problem is it started out as a price thing for me, SI @ 8's for the Mares without AJ & Laurina or 4/1 for Laurina in a Champion Hurdle consisting of AJ, BD, Melon etc....

I still think it's a no brainer, and PP/Betfair have cut the pair of them for them respective markets.

If she finds off the bridle and if she responds to a couple of taps, she wins this (without a serious error hurdling of course).
I'd have been very confident without AJ.

Couldn’t agree more qv but I’m less worried about AJ... think she’ll set it up for her.

Nice workout for this years winner today.

Stormy not in the same parish :devilish:

I don't think Laurina will be placed in this.

BD is going to stalk AJ all the way round and attempt to lead after the last. Those two will fight out the finish imo. Laurina to get out battled up the hill, fading into 4th.:devilish:

It's going to be some race.

Melon is a wild price on the machine. Haven't backed yet. Interesting comment from Willie today.

Haha!

You forgot to mention who would come third, I might do the exacta. :)

I’m very happy with him at the minute. We have our own reasons why we think he disappointed in the Irish Champion Hurdle and we are going to change a few things for Cheltenham that will hopefully help him. I don’t want to go into what those things are just yet, but we have a few ideas. I know Buveur D’Air’s connections think that he is better than he was on Champion Hurdle day last season, but I’d be hopeful Melon can be better than he was that day too.

Hmmmmm..... interesting!

He's going to be backed again isn't he. I can see that coming a mile off.

I'm going to take this 22/1 EW with WH
and some win only on BF - and trade that out on the day.

Hype horse.

Couldn’t beat a Buveur D’Air with the sniffles let alone a CH with him fully fit and the two Mares In
