The more patient ride on Anightinlambourn today looked perfect for the Kim Muir.
Around a 6lb penalty and aimed at this then he'd be a decent shout.
But I hate this thread

I've decided from here on in i'm not reading this thread at all. Bugger the handicaps haha!
First handicap vibes for me after the bizarre first race at Navan. Firefox to go one better than his brother The Bosses Oscar in the Pertemps. Firefox will be 5 when the Pertemps comes around...the last 5 year old he won the Pertemps with (Delta Work) finished 3rd in a 2m4f race at Navan too...
Anybody else think Dan is plotting Third Time Lucki a route to the Grand Annual ?
I looked at this yesterday as well.. Don't think he has ever won the grand annual.. Third time lucki would want to come down another few pounds, just he is in the bracket of badly handicapped and not good enough for grade 1s IMO. Few horses in that race with third time lucki this weekend that might target the grand annual..
Quite possibly. Thought he might be doing this with West Cork as well though, for same connections.
I always thought West Cork could need further and was maybe more a Plate horse.
I've taken a chance and had a small bet 25/1 TTL for the G Annual anyway partly because the only firm pricing him are the only firm I can bet with !
OffTheBridle yeah at 151 you'd think he might struggle to get in front of some seriously well handicapped horses but he's a duel G2 winner and if, as I suspect, the work to get his mark down is underway he could well line up in March off 145...

100% agree, he is a 2 miler and grand annual looks the race for him and as you say the work is underway to get him down
My Trump Card flashed home for fourth in the Grangeclare West race for Gordon and Bective. Last year Au Fleuron filled that spot for connections and the previous year it was Folcano. Both went on to the Martin Pipe so get him on the shortlist.
My Trump Card was a very expensive store horse and that was his debut under any rules today. He’s a full brother to Airlie Beach so has a pedigree to match.
Hunters Yarn looking a Mullins Handicap horse maybe?
Or maybe he’s not that good?
This is not directed at you in particular, but I always find it bizarre that when a well thought of or hyped novice gets beaten, the immediate reaction is ‘must be a handicap plot’. The handicaps should have ten novices finishing in a line, 15 lengths clear of the others
I know that some novices will be campaigned for handicaps, but most are not that good and simply do not live up to expectations.

I'd ban all the novices from running in open handicaps at the festival. That would sort things out.
