  • Not good news then Ista. We'll all have to start using the high street bookies again by the sounds of it and settle for their stinking prices.

But how long until they themselves are forced into some mandatory tracking to have a bet in the shops? You’ll end up having to get those cards they try to get you to sign up for so they can track your bets etc.

This is a background credit check you wouldn't even notice

It's the ?2000 over 90 days that id imagine theyd want something off the customer

AP bets therefore have to be considered losers until their settlement confirms otherwise.

I’d love to be wrong but not sure how I can be.

I had a lengthy battle with Betfred around 7/8 months ago who claimed that despite the lifetime of the account being considerably profitable my recent ‘losses’ exceeded their internal limits forcing account closure pending financial interrogation, however, there were no losses on the account whatsoever, just a significant number of Cheltenham bets that hadn’t yet settled…
Does this count with free bets, as I place about ?60 to ?80 a month on Cheltenham using free bets?

People are going to have to take some poor prices and spread your bets around more bookies. I use two accounts for each site (wife) so I can spread it around more evenly.

                Yep, or use unregulated options.
I think it was Saxon who made a very good point in a previous discussion on this subject, he said that it was bookmakers who created the need for over regulation by their own greed, I think there’s alot of truth in that.
The reality though is because of the way racing is funded whatever thresholds get introduced will have a catastrophic effect on a sport that is already struggling.
Racing has been here before and survived so maybe someone is sitting on a big box labelled ‘Masterplan’ that will be its’ saviour, but I can’t get over the fact that in the last 2 days I’ve been out for a nice meal, done some water sports, booked a week away with the wife and ordered some decent meat from a good online butcher, all in about 3 grand, none of these outlets needed to see my bank statements so a total stranger can make a decision on whether I can afford them.
Soon enough more money will be gambled with unregulated bookies than those based in UK who fund the levy…

                  .
I doubt free bets will count towards your weekly/monthly ‘limit’ but I’m assuming you only get free bets by losing anyway ?
Also, there was talk of free bets disappearing as part of the review, there’s a belief they are inducements to bet with real money.
As someone said earlier, world gone mad…

                  • RIP Horse Racing. Bookmakers greed is going to see this great sport have a rapid decline and at the very worst, cease to exist.

I don't get free bets from losing to be fair as I don't bet much (90%) is all on Cheltenham. I spend about 2 hours each day, using all the free spins you get from all the sites (using two counts for each) Ladbrokes / Coral / William Hill are by far the best. I make about ?3 a day every day. The trick is to aim low and go for top 1000 to 4000 placed for the easy 50p on the Ladbrokes free casino live games instead of going for the big win which is almost impossible. And the tournament game after 6pm you stick to the same two numbers on the coral casino tournament roulette wheel . They do the wheel 3 times a day x 2 accounts – 15 free chips a round, you have 60 chips in total, that gives you 24 goes a day for one of your chosen numbers to get you a ?1 win. I normal get that at least once or twice a day. Then you have the free spins wheels on most sites and then 5 free spins William Hill give you at least 5 times a week from the scratch card, I would say at least once a week I will make ?5 from free spins and sometimes a lot more, the most I have ever had on 5 free spins was ?110! You also have the 1-2-3 football each week on Ladbrokes and the Coral ?50.00 football game when the football season starts and the Bet365 and Paddies often do ?5.00 free bets or free bet builder bet, which I go for less return bets instead of wasting it on a big win. So, if you put in time you can make about ?60.00 to ?80 a month. So about ?800 from free bets go on Cheltenham overall and it made me a lot of money last year. I have found a few sites being a bit stingy now, but Lads /Coral and William Hill are still good if you put in the time. It’s a pain to do, so I guess few people bother, but with luck you can make about 2k from Cheltenham from free bets, so its worth it in the end.

Certainly would reduce my winners if they stopped free bets though.

Thanks, it was the first time I really looked at free bets of making money last year. I would just normally waste them and then it occurred to me that 30p here 80p here adds up, so I really started playing the free bets wisely and put it all on Cheltenham. Lads / Coral /William will give you the most and they are the sites that give you the price boasts as well. This year I’m targeting 16 races at Cheltenham to try and make between ?500 to 1k return from each race. These free bets go a long way in helping me cover loads of bets to reach my targets. I would always advise people to use the free bets (aim low and don’t’ waste them cause they add up) and invest them in Cheltenham.

                          • I’ve always used cash betting. No audit trail. Hard work sometimes to pick bookies and timings to get bets on. I always tip the cashier, and I find this always sweetens the possibility of a future bet.
interesting that over past couple of months that I’ve been asked for personal details and proof of ID before cash payout
i wouldn’t admit to third party betting, but that’s another vehicle that works for me.

I'm doing exactly what you are doing Maxfield., only with coral , but i don't go many days without winning something .
and Fridays with Corals is guaranteed win day - on the Grabber.. - I've had several decent amounts ..
I usually convert them straight into cheltenham bets after the comps finish each day.
i don't have a particular strategy with the roulette comps , but been picking up on those too.
Gives me a chance to do some " sillybets " . Plus some proper bets too. .
