Crowdfunder - Fat Jockey Forum upgrade

Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

  • Hi, posted a bit already.
I've been watching you all. For years.
    Spooky.
I'm going to get stuck in, please don't take anything I say too seriously as I just love debate and it's all just good fun.
My favourite horse is Sprinter Sacre, as I love 2 mile chasers .... SS is gone but UDS is a worthy username. He was an amazing horse, I'd have loved to see him campaigned more aggressively as a novice hurdler!

    • I thought that I'd better introduce myself, particularly after asking after FH wellbeing yesterday!!
I've been interested in national hunt racing for the past 30 years, but only started going to the festival since 1999. I've had horses with the late, great Ferdy Murphy. Also with Rebecca Menzies, Ruth Carr, Tim Walford and Alan King.
Best Festival Breakfast The Curious Cafe
      Best Festival pint The Kemble
      Best Festival eating Purslane

First festival winning bet Katarino, Triumph
Biggest price festival winner Liberthine, Mildmay of Fleet
Most memorable festival winner DIvers, Centenary Handicap Novice Chase (had a share in this fella)

Hope to be able to contribute to this excellent forum.

      • Welcome, welcome

        Divers!

I only started recording my Cheltenham Festival bets in 2011, so Divers is 'officially' the first handicap winner I'd ever backed at Cheltenham. Won just after Quevega at 10/11 (who was my first winner that day on my first ever trip to the festival! - had to do the classic trip to the cash machine before going all or nothing on her )

I had a tenner on at 11.5 on Betfair Exchange the day before and thought I was the king of the world on the train home that day

Al Ferof's Supreme that day, I backed Cue Card and Sprinter Sacre.

I backed Dunguib in the CH hahahaha

I may know you, or at least you're a friend of a friend.

          • New bloke here

Lurked on here a few years, am dual purpose, will probably post most on the flat and Cheltenham matters nearer to the festival

Been into the game over 30 years, done the hard yards gaffing round the midlands tracks for a few years, but only tend to go to big meetings now

Well at least my user name may cause amusement if my posts don't

Were you a fan of Idi's then ?

You may be the first member to have a comedic name based around a Ugandan mass murderer.
I think that's worth a round of applause

                Welcome Hiddy
                I'm expecting a suitable avatar.

                • Hi everyone. Brand new member. Have been reading for a few months and really pleased to have been given the opportunity to join. I am very impressed with the quality of this forum. Well done to you all. A few bits and pieces about me. Firstly it is fair to say Horse Racing is a passion. I love both codes but nothing can compare with Cheltenham and it’s pretty much an obsession. Just to illustrate. During quiet times at work I used to get the calculator out and work out how many seconds to Cheltenham and then record the answer in a little book. Many things have impressed me about this forum, but let me just call out a few. Firstly it was a thread started by either Quevega or Istabraq I think giving members a safe place if they were struggling in these difficult times. Total class. Then someone posted something completely inappropriate and it was jumped on immediately and the member removed. Again total class. I have Been at this game for years and still make rookie mistakes like not realising Chatham Street Lad was a novice until I had wasted half a point. But after nearly 25 years of doing this the mistakes are slowly reducing. This forum will definitely help. While I have been lurking until now I have been making silent contributions as a fair number of the specials highlighted brilliantly by eggs have been requested by me. I plan to be an active poster but believe there is room for all ends of the posting spectrum. I couldn’t have Rooster Booster as my name as it has been taken. But good to see old adversaries such as Rhinestone Cowboy and Hardy Eustace ably represented. Rhinestone .... I have an apology.... I backed Pizarro in the bumper but please don’t hold it against me.

                  • Welcome

                    1. Please post the seconds to the festival every now and again.
                    2. Istabraq - you are right, he is total class.
                    3. Good work with the specials, they are popular and Eggs continues to do great work.
                    4. I've changed your name to Rooster Booster - the account using it hasn't been active since 2018.

                        Welcome Johnno.
It was Istabraq who set up the thread mate.
I backed Rhinestone that day and the stewards went on forever, and came to the wrong decision obviously
Some good horses in that bumper as well.

                            • Hi guys, just registered there. Been lurking around for a few weeks. Fantastic site for anyone interested in racing. Big NH fan and the four days of Cheltenham is my highlight of the year. Book the week off and find a high stool and hopefully watch all those antepost bets pay off.

                              • Another new member who has been hiding in the shadows for a while and have finally plucked up the courage to join. Massive horse racing fan, particularly the jumps. The festival is the highlight of the year and the Saturday afterwards is the most depressing day of the year, it's a feeling that I suspect is shared by a lot of people on here. I've benefited hugely from some of the posts on this Forum so hopefully will be able to help others too.
