    Exactly this.

So stop being so wet Dan Skelton, check that you've grown a pair down below - then start acting like a grown up (not a scaredypants).

No point training at Alcester if your not running at the Cheltenham Festival with your top horses every year.

(Imagine how many runners him and PN would have at the Cheltenham Festival, if they trained somewhere much further out that took more effort to arrange and travel from - like IRELAND).

      Kauto Star!

Edit - Sorry - read competed as 'completed', so not Kauto.

Going back, Midnight Court, Master Oats and my first Cheltenham festival.......The Thinker. Must be a few others and clearly more than any of us would have thought.

…might be wrong but I think the Thinker won in the snow and the meeting was abandoned. I was there too, got off to a great start with Observe winning the first with Francome on board at 16-1. Good memory.

I was there that day. Meeting wasn't abandoned. They ran 3 races after the Gold Cup. Half Free with Scudamore up won the last. Bloody cold that day.

Wasn't abandoned, the GC was delayed for an hour until the snow thawed. Very weird day.

Great memories from that day even though i only backed Half Free, but the beer kitty money went on The Thinker so i didn't go thirsty!! Observe won the Foxhunter under Charlie Brookes and was the 2nd on the card after the Triumph i think. Johnny won the Cathcart on him 3 or 4 years earlier.

Racing delayed by about an hour and a helicopter flew low over the track to help clear the snow. Everyone hit the bars and got royally pissed and a streaker ran up the straight and dived over the finish line before the GC. Sorry about the after-timing but I backed The Thinker at 33-1. One of many great days but for me Dawn Run’s GC and the scenes in the paddock afterwards probably topped the lot even though I couldn’t back her...didn’t think her jumping would hold up.

                            • Grade One-winning hurdler Ahoy Senor is set to make his novice-chasing debut in the coming weeks.

A ?50,000 purchase after impressing in a wide-margin point-to-point victory in November, the Dylan Thomas gelding filled the runner-up spot in an Ayr bumper on his first start for Lucinda Russell, before going one better on his hurdling bow at the Scottish venue at the start of March.

Ahoy Senor was a widely unconsidered 66-1 shot when stepped up to the highest level at Aintree the following month, but produced a dominant front-running performance to ensure he heads into the new campaign as one of the most exciting prospects in the north.

Russell is keen for her stable star to make a low-key beginning to his career over fences – identifying a race at the Charlie Hall meeting at Wetherby as a potential starting point.

She said: “I’m really pleased with him. He’s summered very well and is in full work.

“He’s just a couple of pieces of work off a race really. Chasing is definitely the plan, and we’re looking forward to it.”

Wherever Ahoy Senor begins his chasing career, expectations will inevitably be high.

Russell added: “It’s quite a responsibility having a horse like him, but it’s a good situation to be in.

“We might start low and go to Hexham or Carlisle or Wetherby. There’s a three-mile novice chase at the Charlie Hall meeting, so maybe we’ll go to Wetherby for that.

“There’s no pressure. We’ll start small and see how we get on.”

                              • It's probably nothing, and hopefully just a slip of the finger but someone matched Bob Olinger in the Marsh at 10.0 on the exchanges most recently, albeit for ?4
