  • Still have Defi ahead of him for me (think he'll be ready to pounce and sprint past) but that couldn't have worked out better for a festival prep for the front pair

    • That was a very strongly run race and great to see Chacun stay on to beat Min. All roads lead to the champion Chase

I could already feel myself getting carried away with CPS... the arguments about the value of that Punchestown run will be staple throughout the next 6 weeks

        • Race must of been ran at a pretty fast pace, looked a proper slow finish on the quick ground.

          • Just need Altior to win easily next week.
The Defi's choice gets a lot harder. especially if good to soft ground
            controversial. Iknow
don;t need a long back and forth chat about it.

            • Chacun pour soi reminds me a little of Un De Sceaux in his earlier years
              Jumps and gallops at pace
Not sure if he has that extra gear that Defi has come the business end at Cheltenham
Going to really enjoy watching it with Altior also in the mix
Race of the festival, hope they all get there safe and sound

Absolutely. For me Defi has improved considerably from last season. It's not always the case but not having Geraghty onboard was a negative at Punchestown and you've always got the doubts about how each horse was going into that race after such different seasons.
Chacun still looks fairly raw though. Will be some match without even getting into Altior!

                • Think i just saw the QM and ryanair winners , top form that ,the rest just couldn't go with them or sustain the gallop

I think we may have seen the winner of the Ryanair but I think Chancun will need improve to out power Altior and Defi up the Cheltenham hill. CPS smashed everyone in that race then but laboured in the last few hundred yards where we know Altior and Defi will be hit their turbo’s.

                      • Racing tactics will play a massive part. I think it’s intriguing as to whether Altior try’s to go with CPS early or him and Defi sit and give him a big lead to try to pounce. I think if they are as close as Min was with a fence to go they will catch him and get past CPS.

Can see your angle ,today was 2m1f so I am happy Chacun looks the real deal and a real 2 miler.Altior and Defi might just get done for speed.

That is one of the first things that crossed my mind.

Im not going to chat about it either though
